Thought I'd get this fired up seeing as it was generally inactive on a previous server's forum. Let's talk boxing.
Generally speaking, we're in the end of year run now so there's not much going on, but all eyes are on Rigo vs Loma later this month. Gonna be a great spectacle. I've got Loma winning on the cards, mainly down to age and weight, but I think Rigo will see a lot of success.
Shorter term, we've got Miguel Cotto's retirement party tomorrow as he takes on Sadam Ali. Ali being such a huge underdog is crazy, dude is a slick operator. I've got Cotto on the cards in this one too though. I think Rey Vargas vs Oscar Negrete will steal the show tomorrow night, though. Vargas is definitely the top guy at 122lbs not named Guillermo Rigondeaux in my opinion.
In terms of my own experience, I'm 23 now, been boxing since I was 7 and was born to a family of boxers. I'm in the transition of leaving the amateurs and moving on to professional. I box at Colchester ABC in the week and Peacock's in London at weekends when I'm not at work or if I'm off work in the week. Would love to hear from any other boxers or former boxers on the server.
