How to join Bay Area Roleplay

Bay Area Roleplay is a GTA San Andreas multiplayer community set in San Fierro and the Bay Area. This page brings together the server address, client setup links and places to find the latest access information.

Get ready to play

1. Prepare GTA San Andreas on PC. Use your own compatible copy of the game. Check the community setup instructions before installing a multiplayer client or additional files.
2. Install a multiplayer launcher. The official open.mp Launcher supports open.mp and SA-MP servers. Choose the client version recommended by Bay Area Roleplay staff; do not assume every SA-MP release supports the same custom content.
3. Add the server to your favourites. Enter play.ba-rp.com:7777 in the launcher, set your nickname and connect. The direct connection button above works when a compatible client is registered on your computer.
4. Check access announcements. A responding server can still be password protected while development or testing is in progress. Follow the official Discord for opening information and access instructions.
5. Read the community guidance. Browse the roleplay and faction sections, introduce yourself on the forums and ask in Help & Support if you need assistance.

Returning to Bay Area?

The forums include discussions, development logs and character stories from earlier years. Read the Bay Area 2026 return announcement and check current staff guidance before treating an archived rule or tutorial as current.

Connection problems

If the address does not connect, first check the live status on the forum homepage. Confirm the address and port, the recommended client version, and whether access is currently locked. Never share your account password in a public support post.
