If there was a school on the server when it released who would love to go there?

I'm in class everyday in real life, don't want to come home and go to more classes.

I go to college three times a week and work two times a week, the free 2 days I have I don't want to be going to school, I'd rather my character enjoyed her job.

Trying to survive a school shooting might be fun.

When I've roleplayed a teenager I always kept school as a topic of conversation but in terms of actually roleplaying IN school is a different story. Simply roleplaying that I go to school works for me, but when I'm in game I consider that to be out of class time.

Agreed. I usually just NPC it, but I keep it in consideration since usually I'm on during the "night hours" of the day / evening as well.

It's pretty immersive if you're actually a student IRL. You go to school IRL which is basically your character's time in school. Anything that happens to you IRL like detention or something could be rped ig.

I mean, is school really that bad an idea? We don't even need classes; just the environment and mapping would be good enough for me.

Good for you because it's roleplay, not a class. A lot of people like to roleplay youth and it's a big part of life for these young people. The extent to how much you want to roleplay school is up for debate though, and I'd say if someone is up for the task to roleplay teachers and the necessary components for school roleplay, why not. It shouldn't be a forced thing, though.

Agreed. I don't know why people are so obsessed with managing everything and adding bureaucracy. Just select a building, give it a formal name, and come up with a decent school interior. It doesn't have to be a grandiose project. You're giving players the tools for this type of role play and it's up to them to use the tools to elevate the concept. Keep things casual. I'm sure players with teenage characters will incorporate the school in their role play and get more options from it.

And proud of it^

I would because I'm going to RP a cheerleader and even made cheerleader skins recently. A few of my friends are joining with me and it isn't a huge thing, more like a side rp thing but I'm going to try and make it eventful as I can. :) I got another friend who's going to RP a football and basketball player (Since they run between two different seasons). Anyone's free to join us in our RP if they'd like, it's nothing major. The main RP is teenagers hanging out. I know. Unique. sarcasm~

me @Derek Lancer and @Moozie are school dropouts so it would be great to go back to it and learn something new!

I don't think primary/secondary schools can work on roleplay servers unless the expectations are high. Most players who will attend classes will portray immature characters (rightfully so since they're RPing pre-teens or teenagers) that are future dropouts, interrupting classes and with bad behavior, because admittedly it's more fun than roleplaying a quiet student. However perhaps a college could work.

I can imagine a University of San Fierro somewhere in the city, with strict student admissions, and because of the elitist nature of US universities only an upper-class of characters could enroll, and the would be RPing around young adults so the environment would be of better quality. Personally if I were to attend these, I would perhaps consider joining as a teacher.

Of course, simply adding a building and letting people RP or NPC whatever they want there is also an option, because I don't really expect the above from happening, there needs to be serious and motivated people to handle a faction like this.

Pluto (Member) ·

Seriously, just gonna add this statement again bc I would be keen on this concept being included.

Just bc there's a school does NOT mean you are forced to go, we all got work and school we attend to during the day too but this' for roleplay and personal character development. If we just have a simple school map with little interior, I'd personally be happy. I don't exactly want to rp classes and such but I'd love to rp a school environment. Petty highschool fights, tagging lockers, selling weed to other kids in the bathrooms, etc.
