San Fierro RP, DamianC recruited as a staff member, an actually decent looking forum and script.

I returned to roleplaying recently, and my old server wasn't the same as it used to. I saw DamianC here, along with many other admins I know so it seemed very promising. I also hope San Fierro can bring more healthy less "Menace 2 Society" o-dogg gang roleplay.

Found it interesting to find a server that's somewhere else BESIDE Los Santos.

Found out about it on the "What's happening to LSRP" thread on the SAMP forums. Good read.

LSRP just lost any valuable community it had left, really looking forward to this server stepping up and taking LSRP's place for a change. I hope this goes as good as everyone wants this to.

LSRP was dying... Had a bunch of spare time on my hands and just missed roleplaying in general.. Figured I'd follow my boy DamianC here an see what he was cooking.

New spark to SAMP roleplay, long awaited.

A server that's not even open but has an active community. To be honest, I'm wandering around the forums and I still have no idea why is this community/server so popular but it's not even open yet. So what's the fuss about?

As per my, possibly limited, knowledge, DamianC is one of the major reasons the server is getting all this hype (he's kind of a big deal, look him up).

This works in conjunction with an influx of players from this other, very well established, English RP server called LS-RP. LS-RP has hit some rough times lately and a lot of players from there are looking for a fresh new start here.

DamianC is associated with the glory days of LS-RP, and his (messy/controversial) departure from LS-RP is associated with the server's gradual decline. His presence here acts as a sort of "stamp of approval" for many folks. Roleplay servers are built by the community over and above all things, so naturally one well-known name attracts others, and those attract more names together and so on (a classic network externality).

I think Damian himself (in one of his posts) subtly tried to get the brakes gently pushed on the hype train BARP is on, I remember him cautioning against looking at a server still in its infancy as a full fledged rival for something as established as LS-RP (which is exactly what a lot of the crowd here is doing). 

I'm speaking based off what I know about the LS-RP crowd, don't know about the other people.

Thank you very much for your explanation. I've been RPing for quite a while, started at Redgie's, went to Project Reality Roleplay and ended up at LS-RP. I haven't RPed for years though, so I'm not familiar with DamianC's departure from LS-RP and the drama that followed it. Kind of bored of LS-RP as well so I'm willing to give this one a try after so many years of inactivity.

Previous server went to shit after DamianC got fired from LS-RP. A lot of us quit samp waiting for something like this to happen
