Street Racing in Bay Area

I was scrolling through the forums, and I couldn't find any faction or a thread talking about Street Racing, so I decided to create a discussion about this kind of roleplay.

Anyone here has the same thought of creating a small crew of street racers and develop it into something good, that will actually stay around for a long time and not be closed?

Edit: I have found a Street Racing faction, though we can still discuss this roleplay style.

Can you point me to the Street Racing faction? Could my hobbo character join it?

PS: As a mechanic of course.

Not a bad idea, any type of roleplay is always welcomed on BA:RP, but I hope not to see 'em racers jumping around China town and those elevated roads :/

SF is a very suitable map for racers

more than welcomed

Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to say. Roleplay an illegal racer is fun and good for the server, but racing in the middle of the city and provoking cops or speeding in the city for no good reason, unless they are evading cops then it's ok. but anything else nonrealistic or just a troll, provoke isn't what we are looking for at all.

My only two wishes for street racing factions is to actually use cheap or low-budget cars. Obviously, one of the most used cars in America for street racing are the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Nissan 240SX, Acura Integra and maybe the Lexus SC 300.

And to not race every single god damn time in SF. Street racing in other servers are all about drifting around the goddamn map or do burnouts.

Though, this is my cheap-ass post and your decision is very damn valuable since this is a server for fun and roleplay.

I agree.

Having people that only race Elegies and Cheetahs is very unrealistic and not fun at all.

Hell, I've always raced with a Flash. It's cheaper and is OP as hell on the track.

I've seen people race with all kinds of cars, pretty cheap ones. I've even raced in a Greenwood .

That's exactly what I meant when I mentioned: "develope".

And yes, Street Racers should not race inside the city frequently. They may race sometimes in an abandoned area where people usually don't visit, though I have witnessed in other servers, where street racers are racing in a crowded area just to get into a pursuit, I think here it should be different and actually enjoy the roleplay rather than sitting in jail and having your criminal record spammed with "evasion"...

Street racing hasn't been fun in other RP servers as it's all about nonrp'ly driving, but I'm sure SCANDALOUZ will do proper roleplay with the faction.

The thing is, development is really little in terms of cars. Of course, you can switch from a Previon or a Majestic to a normal and hot looking Jester or an Alpha, but in many cases of street racing, development happens under the hood and not outside of it. The famous sleeper Buick Regal GS was (probably still is) pretty much a street racing car, and it blew muscles and imports like nothing. The guy pretty much explained through his whole life story in a video and everyone loved it because of the development.

The sad thing about this, though, is that SAMP does not allow a custom handling.cfg and that's a shame for street racing. I'm not saying that muscles shouldn't be allowed, because, Alphas and Buffalos should very much be allowed since they're your typical American modern-ish and common muscle car.

Sabres and among others are pretty much treasures because they're the classic genre of American muscles, but in-game, they're not treated as such. The same goes for exotics and among other classes that are very special for us but not in the game.

From a personal experience, do not create events advertised in-game. It always brings the most terrible players to gather for a car event. In general, you must avoid doing retarded drifting around the city because you're harming everyone. Do you know what happened to Mid Night Club? Their car club was disbanded the instant after a car accident during traffic. They raced against some Bosozoku gang members because they kept insisting to race them in the streets. It resulted with many deaths and Mid Night Club instantly disbanded with the official team members absolutely ashamed. They were one of the greatest car clubs in the car history and were quite a hot topic by Jeremy Clarkson and a good few others.

Insert some precautions and feelings to your car clubs, because, if you don't, it'll be just another boring faction that does montages about how one hot guy is doing some hot laps drifting around the big avenues of SF and barely gives a fuck about the PD.

That's just my two cents and as I said earlier, it's your decision to whether have fun or drifting across streets in zig-zag or to do a faction very for real.

A few years ago I developed a female character in street racing, I'm planning to do the same here.

I'm really looking forward to the street racing roleplay in San Fierro.

I think you should try and rub such a faction yourself. It seems like you have some experience within this kind of role play. I would join your faction for sure man.

I would, but leading a faction makes you responsible in a lot of things and you have to at least have a ton of ideas or challenges for your players to keep them motivated or entertained. If it ever happens, my leadership would be quite different than the average street racing, only bringing the quality and not the quantity. I don't care much about the quantity itself, but quality is what lacks most in street racing factions in my opinion.

If I do create a street racing faction this early, it'll bring an unnecessary competition between existent street racing factions. It's not really smart to do too and might be considered very rude.

Neck (Member) ·

I won't consider opening another faction of street racing as a rude move, it doesn't have to be considered as a competition, they can be allies ICly.

I think it would be kinda dope to have a few street racing clicks in the city.

One thing I would love to speak to developers about is a little bit of script-love for street racing factions/street racers in general. It doesn't have to be anything too big either, just the ability to create a track per-say. Like imagine you drive somewhere and type "/cpoint" (create point) and you make maybe a.. 15 point track. The points you make show up as those big red circles on your mini-map as well as on the ground where they were placed that you and everyone in the race are able to see. Maybe we could also add a lap feature so you can have a couple laps on the custom course as well. Just a thought, I think it'd be really neat to get something like that and it'd provide a huge boost to street-racer role-play.

A very nice idea though if it turns out to be implemented, I'd suggest only for official racing factions so it won't get abused by anyone. If it will be for everyone, you'd find everyone racing and it'll be a racing server rather than an RP server.

As long as I don't have to see people drive in Elegy's I approve.

If youre going to race stay as realistic as possible, this means don’t go at ridiculous speeds everywhere just because you’ve raced thrice. Develop your character and don’t provoke coos when you get bored. If you do it right it can be amazing. And car shows, everyone loves a well organised car show.
