She is a singer, Poppy is a character which she plays, the project is directed and scripted by Titanic Sinclair, the character was played by Mars Argo in past, a lot of references to 3:36 in her video.

It might sound a seem creepy at first to be honest, but if you start watching it and understanding a little, it's actually very smart and interesting.

Yes it does, but that the part of the script, you don't need to pay attention to that, a gum was needed to create references later, Poppy even has a song about it on her VEVO channel. Try to ignore creepy and cringe background as much as possible to actually understanding the message of each video.
