Burner phones:

A burner phone is normally a secondary cell phone that's prepaid that doesn't leave a trail to your name and can easily be discarded without burning a hole in your wallet because said phones are 10x less the price of an average iPhone.  For it be, businessmen or drug dealers having more  than one phone is important to do business on.  The concept is simple, being able to own more than one cell phone and be able to discard one if need be.

(Be able to own more than one cell phone.)

I like this.

I submitted this suggestion internally, but would love to see everyone's feedback.

This is something we need.

Not much to say here. We need this.

This would give a more realistic feeling, definitely needs this! +++

To add to this and not go off on too much of a tangent - all numbers should be disposable. I think in the real world we see more expensive phones have less battery life - I'd like to see this reversed so that more expensive phones come with more practical benefits such as more battery life, better signal, additional features for a higher price.

Again on the subject of cheap vs luxury phones - you'd be hesitant to throw away an expensive phone so having the option to throw away the SIM card and not the actual phone would be more practical.

More expensive phones have less battery life?

For example an iPhone will probably realistically last about 4-5 hours with the shit batteries. A Nokia 3310 will last like all year their battery life is insane.

So reverse this for a SAMP reality and lets increase the battery life of a more expensive phone so it has more benefits.

The last thing I'll want do in-game as a player is sitting around charging my phone. It's reminiscent to brushing your teeth or taking a dump.

The suggestion sounds good. I guess they can do a second set of phone commands to differentiate which phone you call from.

As @Akiba stated this has been suggested internally. I for one would love to see these in game as well, but this may take a little time to be implemented. As of right now, we're covering our bases and creating simplistic, functional systems to push towards a release. This is on the slate to be worked on, though you may not see it on release.

As for battery life, I don't really care for having to charge a phone at all, it seems like a major inconvenience for a minor "reward" if any reward at all.

No doubt this would be a great addition to the phone system. I'll see about having it implemented in the near future.

I'd like to see this. I believe that the primary phone number of a player should be accessible via police databases, as in real life when you buy a SIM card, it is registered on your name. However, players should be able to get burner phones that aren't linked to their names. Not sure how this is done, but I am sure that it is possible.

Any word on this from the developers?

Hasn't been a priority but I've still got it in mind.

Until then, I'm intrigued to know more on everyones ideas on how burner phones should be; as in receiving them, using them, dropping it and et cetera.

This is what we need so I support this.

Definitely supporting this. As far as I know, burner phones can be purchased at every other convenience store so for in-game purposes it should be available at any 24/7. Now please do correct me if I'm wrong, but they can also be traced back to where they were purchased by Law Enforcement (I'm not completely sure how this function works in real life). So this will also have a reason to dump the burner phones more often if you're worried that cops are on your tail. It would also be useful to have a command to destroy the phone (dropping it on the ground and smashing it with your shoe) or simply dump it in a garbage bin or on the ground.

Just my cent on this feature.

I like this idea, imagine how useful this would be for prisoners.

this could be useful in many RP situations and it can bring lots of opportunities to illegal RP without any doubts
