This game was my childhood along with Stronghold Crusader, The Sims, GTA VC and Hitman series. It was also the first game to make me cry. Amazing storyline.

first time hearing about this game lol
Recommended for the storyline, man. It's a really old game, came out the same time GTA 3 did. They got it on steam recently though.
Mafia 1,2 Is a absolutely good game, I'm of the same opinion.

I am downloading Mafia 3 again on PS4 as I should play it through a second time due to the fact I paid 60 bucks for it just because it held Mafia title which is now ruined.

mafia 1 was purely a czech game and it was brilliant
mafia 2 was a czech game in collaboration with americans or smth and it was a really good fucking game
mafia 3 no longer had czech developers participating and it turned out to be garbage

Yeah, American Game Companies often, if not always, produced garbage games which is not a surprise fact lately. When I found out that Mafia 3 was heading directly to an American game company from a Czech (European) game company, it was clear that the project would be ruined with random clusterfucks, arcadish, similarly to GTA.
However, let me note something: Some Czech developers did in fact participate in the project by giving tips, ideas and some help. However most of the development was decided solely by the American developers. The only thing the Czech developers managed to make before the project was given to Hangar 13, was the graphic engine. What is more concerning, the graphics engine is a mess as well, apparently the Czech devs didnt manage to finish the graphics engine and the new company did not bother to finish it.
I still wonder why EA, 2K Games still exist.

Only thing I loved on all Mafia games (Mostly minus the American version ones) is the realistic system the game had (Car physics, driving), realistic Police A.I which was never seen in any form of open world games including GTA, the true gangster era and all general gameplay. I still play Mafia 2 time to time messing with the cops, watching as gangsters vs cops unfold front of you and stuff. Mafia 3 is more like how we complete GTA V: Finish all missions, abandon the game completely.
Shame it led to disastrous failure, thankfully though it was expected for me so I wasn't very dissapointed or surprised. I hope Mafia 4 will be made by a European game company.
I think the title's sold already and czechs cant do anything about it.
I'm lost for words on what to say about Mafia 1 and 2, they are both amazing. Mafia 3 was OK there was some aspects of the game I found good in Mafia 3 like and Handling for vehicles and the final mission which I quite enjoyed. Oh and before I forget they also added in Vito (Main protagonist from Mafia 2) which I thought was pretty good. Mafia 2 was the first Mafia game I ever played. When I first played it, it blew me away. I could just sit there for hours driving around looking at the beautiful scenery of Empire Bay. I would have to say that my favorite Mafia game has to be Mafia 2. The first one was brilliant but I never finished it, I got half way through then stopped playing for some reason so yeah it has to be Mafia 2 for me.
