yikes cant believe someone wrote all this and thought it was accurate lol what a waste of time
Roleplaying LCN.
Started by Brand,
It's a game, you will never get realism in a GAME. As @Conspiracy said, want realism? Go work 5-9 hours lol. You can't make something realistic based off wikipedia anyway. There is one thing you should know, before thinking of roleplaying in a ''mafia''. Mafia is bunch of small groups so called families which are lead by their leaders and there is one boss who is voted by families who leads so called Mafia, so to make realistic roleplay of so called mafia, you need at LEAST 20 people, otherwise you are just a mob/gang. And here is better example of what is what -
Using a random Youtube video about yet again time inaccurate facts about the mafia does not validate your point. We are in 2018, not 1945. Not to mention the video talks about the Sicilian Mob, not the American Mafia.
Someone get me my fedora and tommy gun

You do have a point there. I remember watching this specific video a couple of weeks ago as it appeared in my YouTube recommended list. It's a blend of random facts that the video creator probably didn't spend too much time collecting. As Victor said, it speaks about the Sicilian mob, which is a almost whole different universe. Even though some more ''zips'' appear on the streets of New York (from what I've heard lately), San Francisco isn't New York. I'd like to very much stress a fact that people sometimes mix up their geographical differences. For example, even accents differ, it looks really stupid when a character who RPs born and raised in San Francisco speaks with a Brooklyn accent. Just because the ivy league of the American mob is there, it doesn't mean every mobster in America originates from there.
It is not the inaccuracies that bother me about your guide, but the lenght. All of that information could be put into compact frames and still deliver the same message. Also, you must keep in mind that guides are guides and not books about a subject.
I don't understand why realism is so frowned upon now a days. The term "ROLE PLAYING GAME" should give it away that we are to role play a role to the best of our abilities and that includes being realistic. I don't understand how this is such a foreign idea. If you aren't interested in role playing properly, perhaps Bob's Cops n Robbers is more apt for your liking.
On topic for the thread, as others mentioned, this would be decent if the server was set in 1920's NYC but to my knowledge, it's not.
Stick to Habbo, Curly.
As someone who has been rping LCN for like, 4 years? I'd say that this guide is OK for a beginner, but it won't take you to the level of mastering this kind of roleplay. See, the first thing I noticed about this guide, that you said that "Respect and mannerism" are common in modern LCN, that's a big no, also the Omerta isn't active anymore except for a very few families whom I can count on my fingers. Modern LCN is all about money, and to be honest before anything it depends on your character and the surrounding influences on it. The ten commandments also aren't adhered anymore.
You learn through playing with people who are more experienced than you, you cannot learn and advance if you do not surround yourself with people who are experienced, that goes for most things. A guide doesn't do shit but teach you how to be the perfect character. Never fucks up, always pays kicks on time, always does things right. Experiment, bring something new to the table. Don't be a robot.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I didn't bother to read the guide, but one learns the ropes by spending most of the time with experienced players.

More like you realize the point I made is valid so now you start joking to ease the tension.

All jokes aside, we appreciate your effort a lot, but modern day mafia has no more values that were once on a piece of paper ages ago. It's dog eats dog regime. You don't have to know all this background for a great outcome in la cosa nostra (of course if you don't join some fedora organisation marching the neighbourhood in all black suits.) All you need for modern day mafia is just to be hood type of criminal, or just be a great white collar criminal (legalised criminal) to scheme out new scams and earn money. You could have experience with only black street gang and you'd still be good asset. Depends on how you want your character to be portrayed. But all together, good guide. Thank you.
Well done.
Can you do a cholo guide next, please?
