What would you like to see in San Fierro Police Department?

More community outreach programs (after school activities, ride-alongs, speaking at community events, etc).

Walk a beat and get to know the neighbourhood (old school police method).

There should be a separate civilian-led board to investigate complaints against officers.

Yeah what you said is a waste of a read and time.

Punishments for wanting to rp as an LEO? Before you join PD I'm sure it's required to spend most/ALL your ig time on that character so yeah that's invalid.

2. Not everyone wants to be a try hard role player, admins always say "as long as you follow "SERVER RULES" you're fine" "robo copping" isn't a break of server rules so that's invalid, Properly developing characters isn't a serve rule. So yeah that's invalid as well.

3. In PD, you're not just assigned a partner you have to request for one, and when no one is available let me guess you want them just to not rp? This isn't Alex Woodson's role play, and you're looking at this from a biased standpoint because you don't get your way.

4./bp? Yeah this isn't a cops and robbers server.

5. The academy isn't hard, just study/pay attention and you'll pass and they have special rules for those who have impaired hearing/issues with voice if not? then that's just the way it is stop complaining.

Just stop guy, I get it... it's your opinion and all but it's really ignorant and biased.

Wow.. Got nothing to say.

Alright, first of all.

I was afraid this thread didn't exist and our PD will be same as the LSRP's. But I finally have hope after reading this thread but also some concerns.

      •Robo-cops

      •TeamSpeak/Discord

Robo-cops.

We all know, these cops are cold and work on-duty EVERY hour of his/her time. So, I would like there to be a limited amount of time you can stay on-duty per day, giving them time to develop their characters and do something else instead their job.

If they just log off after spending every hour of their time as a cop, they can face the consequences.

If they don't care about the development of their characters such as

"I-... I killed him... I **stutters** -...had to..", they can face the consequences aswell.

TeamSpeak/Discord.

This shouldn't be used as the main communication. We have the IG-radio for that, I understand there are situations where a cop can't type. Such as the shoot-outs and pursuits. That is why every cop is obliged to take his/her partner together with him/herself. So, whoever drives the cruiser, his/her partner(passenger) can type. During the shoot-outs, they can have the cmd ./bp which allows them to call for the back-up. So, if I use ./bp , it will automatically transmit my name and location to all available units. "Firstname_Lastname needs the back-up! Respond to their location immediately!" You will see the marker on the radar.

You shouldn't need the microphone in order to join the factions aswell. The recruitment system doesn't need to be so hard where only a few can pass. What I mean with that is, no one wants the academy to last a week or more. Keep in mind, not the only people who have shitty accent or whatever issues they have. But also the people with impaired hearing or issues with their voices.

As for Robo-cops, all members of the SFPD will be in check and make sure nothing is out of place. However, most if not every cop in the USA have overtimes so that means they can be only 12 hours... a day.

Finally, Discord will not be used as it will never meet everyone's standards when it comes to switching channels and speak during pursuits, etc. As for Teamspeak 3, all members of the SFPD will use it in certain situations stated in the handbook. I can assure you that members will most of the time resort to roleplay and use IG radio. TS3 only when typing is not possible (Pursuits, shootings). Scripts to automatically make a marker on radar is low-rp idea and does not fit in BA-RP.

I got a few things I want to add to these people saying stuff about PD, I've been RPing for many years on one server so I know my fair share.

No Police officer should be in TS all the damn time, in real life, they aren't. If we criminals are NOT allowed to be in discord/skype talking about random shit, why can they? It's highly unfair and leads to metagaming a lot of the time.
Hopefully, on this server, they keep the nametags that they had before. It saved some of the people that like to post screenshots in official and unofficial factions from getting metagamed all damn day by police officers that want to be arrested hungry or want to be in a shootout.

Or you got the cops that never gets hurt, I've been a cop get ran over by a car /me'd and everything by the criminal that did it. The medics came and tended to his room all you see in chat is /do has a graze on his cheek.  While if we criminals flip our cars by mistake because of a SAMP physic glitch, we GOTTA RP it or we get banned. There's a lot of problems that need to be fixed and hopefully, this doesn't happen on this server.

Bro, no one is going to play BA-RP for 12 hours, as far as I know...

However, what do you think about the microphone requirement? As you can see, I stated my opinion about it in the end of my previous comment.

I said I wouldn't carry on but this draws my attention. You are so misinformed that it hurts, no offense. First of all, you have access to a Discord server that you can be on and chit-chat anytime you wish, even whilst you RP, so that's not restricted for you. You can do it all you want. You just cannot use it in character.

I don't understand the issue about screenshots to be honest, I doubt there are even a few cases of people who metagame screenshots from official factions topics. It just seems odd but you could prove me wrong with some solid evidence if you wish.

As for injuries and general RP. Please, I experienced this first hand while in law enforcement, we encountered countless people who couldn't RP or were extremely cocky, and in all situations, we had to be fair and had to raise ourselves at the higher standard. Do you know how hard it is to keep up the RP when someone constantly curses you in /b or messes around because they just lost? Join SFPD, and you'll see.

In fact, PD gets punished way more than the rest of the population. Yes, officers get harsher punishments, because they are held to a higher standard. Not to mention the internal punishment, which can result in a termination from PD - months of work thrown away for a simple mistake, while you, as a standard player, only get the ajail and nothing else.

Stop bashing PD just because you lost in a few scenarios or encountered some bad apples. It's really sad, especially when you come up with arguments like that. And it's not just you, the majority that make it hard for PD have the same mentality and are so misinformed, yet their voices make things unreasonably hard for PD.

I'm sorry. Maybe I missunderstood your "We all know, these cops are cold and work on-duty EVERY hour of his/her time." as most cops have to work 8 hours a day if not 12 hours overtime included.

As for microphone requirement, all applicants must have a working microphone. Exception can be given but I might be wrong though.

First you want a limit to hours then you turn around and say this. You must be new here. Multiple non leo players spend 10+ hours

This is not a thread to rant about your past experiences with LE on other servers.

No "cops better roleplay XYZ" "cops need to stop MG this" "LS-RP did this." These are not legitimate suggestions as its quite obvious this is a roleplay server and the faction will be enforcing all server rules including our own. So please keep that out of here. Damian's comment about relating LS-RP to this community applies here as well. Quite frankly, none of the Executive Officers really care about what went on there or what is going on there. We're building the structure of the faction fresh and new with ideas/opinions that seem realistic and feasible to us and for the BA-RP community.

People without microphones will be given exceptions by Exec Officers should they require it. As for teamspeak - an internal set of rules will be provided to all members to ensure that metagaming/powergaming does not occur through its usage. To get rid of teamspeak would be to take a step back into time/technology. That's excessive.

Thank you to everyone for your input. Happy Holidays.

Telling people they can't equate the police force to other servers is ridiculous. We've all come from other servers and we have knowledge of what worked and what didn't with those server's police forces. People have legitimate complaints and concerns about this being akin to other server's police forces so to just dismiss them because they are comparing and contrasting is sad.

If the Executive Officers aren't valuing feedback from this thread then why bother posting it?

Adorn (Member) ·

There's a difference between giving progressive suggestions and going off on a rant about what other people did in an unrelated community.

Some of the posts are legitimate concerns. questions and queries while others sound more of a complaint against the faction that hasn't even opened on the server yet. What people fail to realize is that not everyone is going to be pleased in the beginning but there is always space for change. Providing EOs information with what Deputy/Officer John_Doe did on LS:RP does little for us. All I can say is that we will ensure that members follow the same rules, standards and expectations as the rest of the community.

No one said that the feedback isn't being valued. I literally just thanked everyone for their input. Whilst that being said, I personally don't appreciate the rant of members breaking rules as that's obviously not what we're about. This thread is here to be a liaison between EOs and the community and what they want to see. Not a thread for us to read about how bad X community was doing so "make sure you get this right."

Robocop: We won't be regulating the amount of hours spent on duty in this faction. This isn't a real life job where people are going to be limited to Xhr shifts and must find something else to do. There are other ways to combat the issue that you speak of there and your suggestion isn't a feasible one.

TS: Like I mentioned before. There will be guidelines and standards put in place to limit the amount of teamspeak usage so that members are in accordance with BA:RP standards and rules.

Mic: No-mic applicants will need permission from executive officers. It's not a complicated process but helps us to know who has a mic, who doesn't, what numbers we sit at, etc.

I can backup all of Adorns statements, especially the one about the microphone I myself do not have a mic although it has not stopped me from acquiring positions in the San Fierro Police Department such as Assistant Commanding Officer for the Traffic Division.

I would like to see patrols stay in a parking lot, dontus shop, etc, than to see them running in all city. It's a bit stupid to see a police car at each 5 mins or less.

Policing is a proactive activity.

To those getting antsy about some statements here I think the main point is that SFPD probably doesn't want to have accusatory fingers pointed in their direction when they know certain behaviors are bad already. I'd recommend waiting until the server starts up to see if certain concerns are presented, but to claim that it will be the exact same as other communities is a bit disingenuous when the server is yet to open.
