What would you like to see in San Fierro Police Department?

I said I wouldn't carry on but this draws my attention. You are so misinformed that it hurts, no offense. First of all, you have access to a Discord server that you can be on and chit-chat anytime you wish, even whilst you RP, so that's not restricted for you. You can do it all you want. You just cannot use it in character.

I don't understand the issue about screenshots to be honest, I doubt there are even a few cases of people who metagame screenshots from official factions topics. It just seems odd but you could prove me wrong with some solid evidence if you wish.

As for injuries and general RP. Please, I experienced this first hand while in law enforcement, we encountered countless people who couldn't RP or were extremely cocky, and in all situations, we had to be fair and had to raise ourselves at the higher standard. Do you know how hard it is to keep up the RP when someone constantly curses you in /b or messes around because they just lost? Join SFPD, and you'll see.

In fact, PD gets punished way more than the rest of the population. Yes, officers get harsher punishments, because they are held to a higher standard. Not to mention the internal punishment, which can result in a termination from PD - months of work thrown away for a simple mistake, while you, as a standard player, only get the ajail and nothing else.

Stop bashing PD just because you lost in a few scenarios or encountered some bad apples. It's really sad, especially when you come up with arguments like that. And it's not just you, the majority that make it hard for PD have the same mentality and are so misinformed, yet their voices make things unreasonably hard for PD.

A few scenarios against PD? You mean all of them?! You must be VERY misinformed and never played on the server we all came from. I'm pretty sure that I know what I'm talking about, and half of the server had the same mentality as I do thank you for trying to educate me but it didn't work. You are FROM the law enforcement, so of course, you think my statement is inaccurate. I've seen so many cops breaking rules even recorded, no punishments were made out to them, so again thanks for trying but you aren't in the right at all. Try RPing as a criminal, you'll see what I mean.

I'm not saying criminals are always on the right side, and I'm not saying law enforcement is always in the wrong. I'm just saying that I have experienced shit that is so bad, and so disgusting to do to players that want to RP criminals.  If you want to continue discussing this, we can go into PM's this is my last post.

I can backup all of Adorns statements, especially the one about the microphone I myself do not have a mic although it has not stopped me from acquiring positions in the San Fierro Police Department such as Assistant Commanding Officer for the Traffic Division.

In that case, we are good then I believe.

First you want a limit to hours then you turn around and say this. You must be new here. Multiple non leo players spend 10+ hours

sad to admit it but i've played a server like 20 hours in a day hehe i got a life

I've been following this topic for a few days now and I can say it's getting really out of hand, just logically discuss about SFPD and things you want to see in it, nobody gives a fuck for how many hours a day you play SAMP or how many hours should cops be on duty, not on this topic please. It just causes extra flood and harder for everyone to read the thread.

Hi!

I want to clear up some things before I get started into the actual suggestions that were posted in this topic. First and foremost I've role-played being a criminal for years upon years before I even touched on LEO role-play, so I've been on both sides of the spectrum. So I understand a lot of the player's concerns about metagaming, or play to win mentality that some LEO role-players have had. There is going to be standards that we have to ensure that everyone's experience is going to be fair and enjoyable. There's going to be times where people are going to get upset from both sides of the situations, and I can't put an end to that. But we will make sure that everyone is following our rules and procedures for the police faction to make sure that things go smoothly for both parties.

I will start off with the teamspeak situation, it was already explained a bit by Adorn and a few other but I will touch up on it. We're making teamspeak for high priority situations, so shootouts, SWAT situations, and pursuits. It is the only way that we are able to communicate properly during these situations where there's actions in SAMP which we are physically unable to communicate with in-game methods. If we completely eliminated teamspeak then our faction members would continuously get shot down, injured, etc without ant consequences towards the other party involved - it would actually be unfair towards the police faction during that situation.

A microphone is going to be mandatory but not required to be used, meaning I am 100 percent willing to hear someone out on why they wish to not use a microphone. I personally feel that is unfair to limit someone's role-play because they do not want to use a microphone. I just recently started using my microphone, mainly to be the chief as I felt I needed it to set examples - but for all those years I did not have one I was role-playing a cop just fine, and honestly in my experience it brings out a lot more role-play between you and your partner. But once again as Adorn mentioned those people who request the special permissions will have to go to our executive team to get full approval for it. We're also not going to limit their promotions or how far they can go in the faction, if they show they're dedicated to the faction I am not going to hold them back because they do not have a microphone. The only unit that is is mandatory to have / use a microphone is going to be SWAT (subject to change of course as we add more units.)

We will not be limiting the amount of time someone can be on-duty, it defeats the purpose of being able to role-play what you want and when you want. I can not force faction members to not role-play on duty. We can only encourage that you role-play outside of the PD which we plan on doing, during my times role-playing a LEO I always role-played off-duty with a lot of other officers in the faction - it was some of the best RP I would have and really enjoyable so personally I do plan on doing that, but I can't force other to do so. All I can do is set an example by doing it myself, along with my fellow executive command officers.

We can't limit the amount of people are on duty either, once again it goes back to limiting people's role-play. It's unfair towards that individual player to not be able to role-play what they want because the script is telling them they're not able too. Tho, I do understand what you're saying about this I just don't see it possible to do without it being unfair.

Corruption. This is something I've been working in with my EO and Pitch (Who is leading the Internal affairs Unit) we basically are allowing full corruption to the officers. It's going to be an interesting test for the start of the faction, but I want the faction members to be able to role-play things that they wish too do. It will create so much more role-play opportunities for police role-play, it will also make the IAU not so useless as it was in the past. I am actually really excited for this portion of the faction, it will allow a lot more role-play between police, gangs, mafias, and of course the IAU. Of course we set up guidelines for the corruption procedures, and certain members of sub-divisions can not be corrupt (IAU, our EO staff etc.).

Hope this answers some questions or concerns, I will be reading more on this topic and responding with any questions or concerns that people have. :)

Really good post, Aero. I'm glad about the microphone situation (requirement but not mandatory), and it makes sense completely. Fully intend on applying when recruitment opens!

Being the previous head of legal factions on the a previous server, Id like to see the focus purely on role play if it's to be successful.

You don’t know me but I fucking love you.

Besides that I also agree with Nathan, I hope cops develop their characters and I hope there isn’t any play to win behaviour and hope to see realistic scenarios from both cops and criminals. But I have faith in the PD being successful.

I will be joining the SFPD hopefully. And to be honest, I am playing samp for 10 years or more. Roleplaying for half that time, and the only time I was a cop in a rp server is back in like 2013 for a brief time. Bare with me, I learn quickly, and hopefully I find myself and enjoy LEO roleplay as some others might have already. Now my question would be, and this is how i'm seeing quite some members already, is the recruitment going to be open as the server opens, or is there a possibility to get a position beforehand.

Edit: Nevermind, I did find the PD website, and it's all clear now, also I have posted a question on the forums there concerning a real life job. Take care, thanks in advance, stay frosty.
