Insurgency is a multiplayer tactical shooter developed by New World Interactive and released in 2014. The gameplay is very basic, minimal HUD, no crosshair, no mini map or bullet count. You can see the objectives (A, B, C etc), a compass and your team mates barely marked. Friendly-fire is on, maps are pretty large and combat is hardcore, 1-2 hits and you're done for, no kill cams, no score, you won't know who you killed or if you actually killed someone.
There are 9 online modes available, the ones I play most are push, skirmish and occupy. In push, you spawn either as the terrorists or as the CT. Both have an amount of re-spawn waves, terrorists defend 3 objectives and CT have to take them to get more re-spawn waves & win. Skirmish is similar, but both, CT and terrorists can occupy each other's points to get more re-spawn waves, but there are weapons caches added, if destroyed it prevents a team from getting more waves.
I'm fairly new to the game and fairly trash, but I'm loving it so far, the player base is higher than Squad's and lower than Arma 3's, great community with minimum toxicity. Great graphics and gameplay at only 10EUR on Steam, you can probably get it cheaper though, it's totally worth it either way. That's about it, anyone playing this? |
