The BETA and previous three titles put me off.

It shouldn't. I loved SP all the way, my jaw dropped many times already lol.
PUBG lost it's sales to COD WWII few times already.
Bit the bullet and bought it from Tesco on the way home from work last night. I couldn't help but compare this one to WaW for obvious reasons and I feel as if I've ruined it for doing that
It lacks the gritty atmosphere WaW quite rightfully had. It lacks variety in multiplayer maps. It lacks character. It lacks the WW2 feel.
To be honest it feels too modern to have a WW2 approach. To me it just feels like another modern COD game that couldn't step away from the previous additions. As far as the past few are concerned, I've played a few but not enough to make an informed decision, but from what I have played I think this is an improvement. Thought, it's far from COD4/WAW by a longshot.
I have not played zombies or campaign and base this post primarily on the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Last time I checked is that Call of Duty excell only on Singleplayer / Campaign and Zombies as well. They often if not always, fail on Multiplayer aspect. So please, try play the campaign ;)

lol no, call of duties main focus has been multiplayer since cod 4 but the campaigns are normally decent

Well, COD are best played for SP though! MP is just for fun, no realism. It's like GTA V which is arcadish and fun over Mafia which is realism.

MW3 had a decent storyline, to be honest. I have some 640+ hours in MW3 MP and some 70+ hours in the SP. But since COD4 it seems that they are lacking in perfect storylines.
I'm convinced that the WWII multiplayer will be shit to us who expected historical accuracy, but in times like these the jokes on us for thinking it'd be kept historical at all. I just hope for the sake of humanity that the singleplayer storyline will be relatively historically accurate. They seem to love this feminist/SJW agenda. And let's not mention the fucking weapons they implemented!

Are you kidding me? Does that mean the last time you checked was in 2012? Seriously, the last campaign-based CoD was Black Ops 2, the rest of the CoDs were all fully-focused over their multiplayer and its aspects.
Anyways, I find WW2 to be a great game, just lacking the actual WW2 vibes. It felt like some shitty game like Infinite Warfare with WW2 weaponry. Also, zombies was just a complete rip off of the old zombies(talking perks, etc).
Once they hit the success they had with Modern Warfare 2 it generally became the norm for Call of Duty games to be over the top power fantasies because that's what they imagined people would want, it was true to an extent really, especially by Black Ops 2 (even Black Ops 1 which had one of the greatest campaigns anyhow). Infinite Warfare is debatable since it's generally a middle ground for power trips, you're not an incredible super soldier, you're not even a military officer, but you still can do whatever the fuck you want. The gameplay style in WW2 just doesn't do the setting justice in my eyes, don't know about the story just yet though. Also let's be real, Call of Duty has always been a good multiplayer experience, granted it tried to be what it's really not recently, since Advanced Warfare, but it's generally a good arcade multiplayer game, I don't know why it's being compared to Battlefield since that's a much more "open" style of gamplay to COD's, seriously those who say that Call of Duty is a singleplayer experience and just that don't know anything past Black Ops 2.

No, my point is that not all the CoDs are as campaign-focused as you implied. Sorry for the late-reply by the way. :(

Well hmmm, either way COD is performing better on Campaign than Multiplayer though!
Is it worth buying? I played the beta and it was okay. I'm mostly aiming to play the campaign though, like most cods.
Campaign was legit @Xgin
the campaign was one of the best call of duty campaigns they've done.
