Operation Goodwill
U.S Drug Enforcement Agency today announced conducting a "successful" narcotics and firearm operation against San FIerro gang with links to the Chaldean Mafia, who exploited US Department of Defence contracts.
In the early hours of the morning a joint operation carried out by the DEA & the San Fierro Police Department seen two dead and five arrested, all men are believed to be members of a Assyrian-American gang connected to the Chaldean Mafia. Police announced that the two dead males died during a police pursuit and the five other males were arrested across the city in connection to drug trafficking charges and murders. The males are believed to be aged between 23-38.
The investigation led to wide spread seizures of narcotics & firearms, which included methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin, cocaine and pharmaceuticals, amounting to 255 pounds of seized narcotics, with a street value of $3.5 million. The DEA paraded 14 semi-automatic pistols, ranging from Glock 17s, M1911s and Beretta 92s, also on display were two Colt AR15 semi-automatic assault rifles.
The gang has links to the Mexican drug organisation, the Sinaloa Cartel and the Mexican Mafia. The two Mexican organisations supply drugs to the Assyrian-American gang, in exchange for firearms. The gang took advance of US Department of Defence contracts bound for Iraq and Afghanistan by smuggling weapons back into the United States to be sold back onto the streets of San Fierro.
Assyrian-American gangs are becoming ever more popular across the United States with an influx of Iraqi & Syrian Christian refugees entering the country to flee the terror of the so called Islamic State, who have committed genocide on Christian minorities in Iraq and Syria. The gangs are linked to a wider organisation known as the Chaldean Mafia, who were founded in the 1980s in Detroit, who rapidly began to expand into California, Texas, Arizona and San Diego. Their distribution networks hold strong ties with the Mexican Mafia in the United States, and the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico.

Information regarding the organisation and it's background
The Chaldean Mafia itself consists mostly of Assyrian individuals tracing their roots to the ancient Mesopotamian region which in modern days includes most of Iraq stretching all the way towards south-eastern Turkey, although the organisation has a small number of Armenian & Greeks amongst their ranks. Persecution of Chaldean Christians and on-going regional instability causes a large number of families and individuals to become homeless and flee, many of them are forced to emigrate and leave everything behind. They find new homes and many of them arrive to the United States in search of a better life. These fresh immigrants often find themselves in existing Chaldean communities where they are welcomed thus the Chaldean mafia often recruit these fresh immigrants and put them to work in local businesses before enrolling them in operations involving petty crime ranging from burglary to selling narcotics on a small scale. Obtaining income rather than being loud and obvious or generating public attention is their primary goal and is achieved through secrecy while hiding behind their legal businesses. Additionally, understanding Assyrian ethnic heritage alongside religious beliefs, customs and values is important in understanding the emergence of the criminal organisation in America. As stated, members are inducted through small operations such as selling stolen goods and tobacco, but also includes minor drug sales. Once the individual has proved their worth they may be promoted to a more notable position which entrusts them with a operation of their own which includes, but is not limited to; Arms trafficking, murder, arson, racketeering and kidnapping.
The organisation is split into two divisions, eastern and western. The east coast mafia has a strong relationship with Italian & Russian mafias, where as the west coast division holds ties to the Sinaloa Cartel, and the Mexican Mafia. The organisation also holds strong relations Armenian Gangs in the United States, their strong relationship spawns from the 1915 genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire. Obtaining income rather than “representing” or generating public attention is the focus of this gang, and understanding the Chaldean ethnic heritage and history is important to understanding the emergence of this gang in America. Such ethnic gangs often take root in America because of a desire to band together, avoiding discrimination and persecution. Gang members report to a head person, or “godfather,” and female teenagers refer to themselves as “Chaldean Mafia Chicks.”
