Opening day is going to be 250-300+ easily. Were you around for the beta? It hit 150 in a matter of minutes.

And more people were outside complaning and begging for them to open more slots. and plus the forums are 100-200+ people online daily by the hour. A DOC faction can start right now and will fill up in days.

I was around at open beta, and I know it's going to hit the maximum player number the opening day because of the excitement, but nobody can predict what playerbase the server is going to have in a week after opening and after the hype of opening day. It might stay stable 100 players which is not enough for so many factions. Most of players I have met are going to RP gangsters, also some of them, including me are going to RP civilians. I have met a few who wants to become a cop and medic, but they are not too much. DOC faction is going to be inactive and useless, I like that faction however it's too much for a new server.

We'll see.

There's plenty of people interested in legal roleplay. I'd personally love to join a DOC if it had the right setup and support involved. I do agree, though, now isn't the time to set it up.

Prison would be a great thing. Especially now you can add new models we could even add prisoner models or something, just a thought.

Inmate skins would be awesome. I think it’s looking like a humble prison to cater for those who don’t fancy doing the time and for those pro prison rpers.

People complaining on long prison sentences lmao. Tbh even if people will be ICly in jail there will still be much things to do as a Police Officer. I don't think 150 people will be in jail at the same time. Long prison sentences = +support on that. Makes more RP and people won't just go around DM'ing people for bad reasons.

Anyways, I vote Yes  for a DOC faction.

City and County of San Francisco Sheriff's Department would make more sense for county jails, or if you want it at a state level it should be based of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) witch could easilier be renamed San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (SADCR).

San Fransisco Sheriff Department & Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation are different so I'd suggest research before people start asking for factions they dont truly understand.

San Francisco County doesn't have a patrol-oriented sheriff's department, their only duty is peacekeeping at courthouses and jails. I'd much prefer a SADCR down the line.

Jail times haven't been 100% decided on yet, nor has having a DOC faction. We'll see how the launch goes and the peak of players before creating something that may not see much light.

Will there be a significant difference between the U.S. Criminal Justice System Process on Bay Area Roleplay and Los Santos Roleplay? If so, I have no problem with that whatsoever as long as we move in the more accurate direction.

Since we're aiming for a more transparent vibe I'll tell you right off the bat that we haven't planned to make any prison skins for the initial launch of the server YET.

Now, now, don't be disappointed. Here are some of our reasons:

1. The inmate uniforms have to be decided by the law enforcement faction responsible for prison (not the inmates), and that hasn't been established yet.

2. It's not a good investment time-wise and resource-wise to do such a grand project before the initial launch of the server, since only a limited amount of people (if any) would be able to enjoy these skins to the fullest. The prison inmate population in its early stages would be very small when compared to the rest of the playerbase. Now couple that with the fact that if we make 1 skin then the prison community would immediately want another 7 - male and female, in white, black, hispanic, asian, and so on, you get the idea. It takes an average of 5 hours to make a quality skin with the strict regulations BA-RP is working with. We're not gonna invest 40 hours into 8 skins that only a dozen people will be able to enjoy, at least not that early into the game when our server (and modding team) is still growing, Also, don't forget that quality prison skins are a tad bit harder to make, since you can't really stray too far from the norm - if we don't make them look right then they'll just look bland and repetitive.

We're talking about a minimum of 8 skins here, that's an investment of about 40 hours - if you have the motivation to contribute that much then you can go ahead and do so through here, you're always welcome. It's obviously a nice idea though, so yeah, you might very well see prison skins be implemented in the future.

Will there be a county jail along with a prison?

I'm confused. You're saying you don't want a U.S. Criminal Justice System Process?

This sort of makes me nervous about prison.  It seems (to me at least) that a lot of people have the idea in their heads

that all inmates in prison wear orange jumpsuits.  That isn't the case.  Inmates will usually only wear jumpsuits

when they're being transferred between facilities.  When they're already at whatever state facility they're being moved

to, they will almost always be in some combination of various pieces of clothing they get either from being

issued it by the DOC or buying it from the commissary.

Take a look at these photo examples:

Here's a group of inmates at a medium security or lower block at San Quentin.  Even though most of their clothes are

orange, you can tell that they're not wearing jumpsuits.  None of their clothing is connected, some of them are in shorts.

Here's are inmates at a higher level security cell block, also at San Quentin.  See here how the colors change

from orange and black to blue and yellow?

I guess what I'm getting at is this:
Please no fucking orange jumpsuits.  And if at all possible, the second picture would be the better choice

of attire for inmates to wear.  Thanks for reading.

Definitely didn't say that. I want a more accurate justice system.

I had that same misconception too in the past, when I once made a prison skin pack. 😊

It's okay I guess, doubt SADoC faction would make a similar mistake and just give y'all orange.

I sure hope not.  You never know, though.  There are people who can stare at evidence that the world is round and still call it flat.  Nothing would surprise me anymore.  Lmao.

Oh ok I was confused. I agree with you then.

The longest I got put in prison for in LSRP was 15 hours (for stealing a bike and getting into a pursuit + assault I think?), which was an unfair bias from one of the officers due to previous beef that I had in the past with the player as well as getting into an OOC argument. There's a fine line between fun and realism in games, fun always come first.

I think the maximum sentence should be 1 hour, where it's just enough time to be excited to get out, as opposed to just trying to constantly get away with being AFK. 99% Of the time in prison, nothing interesting or fun happens because either

1. Everyone is AFK due to extremely long prison sentences

2. Officers / admins stop riots and funny things from happening.

Better yet, why not have some mini-games to reduce your sentence so that you have something to do in the meantime? Maybe be able to earn a bit of money from it?

Lets also not forget people who also work full time as well, who only have enough time to play 1-3 hours during the weekdays as well. Nobody wants to come onto BARP throughout the entire week just to be bored sitting in prison.

I think you should have a choice as to how much time you want, meaning you can choose between hours (if you plan on roleplaying in prison for a long time) or you can get minutes, and for minutes the maximum should be an hour and the minim being 30 minutes? Just food for thought.
