Prison

Is their going to be a DOC faction? Would really like to see one, possibly even join it.

hopefully they go through with it.

I think that having a prison/DOC faction is kind of a given, so I would have thought we will see this come into play at some point. Where it falls into the development in terms of priority is a different story.

It would be cool to have a prison/Jail for some fun rp, like have like DOC faction, and be able to like do yard stuff like a real jail/prison

i wonder though, what will the cell times be like? Is it gonna be 10 hours? 8 hours and such ridiculous amounts of time? Or some more logical times?

If you want "logical" times - players should be in jail for weeks, months, or years at a time.  I've always been a fan of a couple weeks of a sentence, but your time goes down even if you aren't online.

Indeed having a DOC faction would be a great addition towards the server, but as I see it now I believe players can deal with not having a majorly mapped prison for the first couple of weeks, yet alone the addition of another faction. Although the consequences of sentences should be decided by the Courts imo.

How are you going to have a decent server when people aren't able to explore and create rp in the city for weeks lmao. The city would literally be empty. This is a damn game.

Why should someone who goes around shooting cops be allowed to even walk the streets again?  That should be a life sentence or death penalty.  Punishments aren't just twenty minutes for a reason.  "Do the crime, do the time."

Dude. It's a game. Criminal RP is RP. It shouldn't be punished to such amounts. Without criminal RP the cops has no purpose. Without criminal RP it'd be stale and boring. It's what makes any RP server the ability to create roleplay via being a criminal. A cop will be able to shoot a criminal or die by a criminal, respawn, rinse and repeat. How is that cop different from the criminal? They're both people who bring roleplay to the server, why should one of them be "banned" for 2 damn weeks from the server by being locked in a cell for that. Use your head.

Agreed, you can't just CK people for roleplaying. If it wasn't for the criminals there wouldn't be a PD, DOC or any other type of factions like them for that matter.

It's not a ban, it's an IC punishment for your crime.  Our times are nowhere near what I would suggest.  The most you're looking at is about four hours from what I saw.  And if you're a criminal, you should easily be able to roleplay in prison with other criminals.

Oh look, here we go again with the same "waah prison sentences too long" thing. Same thing again and again.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. There's also roleplay within prison when it comes to my experiences, hell, have been roleplaying within prison for a full year and I liked it.

Completely agree - this isn't a cops and robbers server where you respawn and go again.  This is a roleplay server, where things are supposed to be as realistic as possible while still being fun.

It's not fun to literally be away from any major roleplay and the whole server for 12 hours or more for some bullshit (Yes sometimes it's bullshit when you end in a situation that grants you that much time and I talk from experiene on LS RP). Your idea of FUN and realistic don't work in game terms. I was merely asking if we'll get ridiculous times. I'm glad some guy said it'll be around 4 max and I hope it's that way.

If you add a lot of time it'll end up being an AFK fest as seen on LS RP and I can't blame people who afk in their cells especially when little people are on. This also takes me to the fact that in the mornings the server will have less people on meaning even less in the prison, so good luck serving your 12 hours "Roleplaying", GG afk.

Well, why can't we get to choose? If Bryar like long sentence time he can get that just by asking for it ? And other can get their hour or two ?

No. It'd please me if times would be realistic in game terms as to actually use that time to play the game while it's also not feeling like a chore. SOmething in the middle. If your time will go out when you're off then it'll be an empty prison so even less reason to give people high amounts of hours. It'll be mini bans because : X gets arrested for 12 hours for assault. X has quit the game. You won't see him for 12 hours. If everyone will do that you'll have a few in the prison itself so the high times again make no sense fun wise. It's not a fun factor as described above.
