Letting people outside your car hear car stereo if windows turned down

Sick idea and I know alot of ideas that I and I hope the rest of the community can do.

If the volume is all the way up in the car you would be able the hear if the windows are down, maybe we could add a volume script just like the boombox, the more you go away the less noise gets output.

Opinions?

I support this. Adds immersion and realism.

Considering that SA-MP has a bad way of implementing audio sources, we'd have a lot of audio overlapping from different streams. Maybe implement it but as long as every player has the option to turn it off so they don't hear it.

I feel as if it'd be a lot of resources to continually check if there's a station nearby, plus it'll have to keep updating when the vehicle moves. Maybe a workaround could be done to ensure it doesn't put a strain on anything.

my only worry is audio overlapping, that could be a real issue.

Nah, not really. If they made it a global timer instead of an individual player timer, it'll be fine. Instead of creating hundreds for every individual player, having 1 timer that works for all players will do just fine.

I fully support this, I've never seen it been done but it would be cool.

That'd be the workaround then! They got this.

I have seen this on an mta server years ago, it would be simply amazing.

The sound overlapping wouldn't be an issue if you are able to set it so that it only detects the nearest vehicle to you via the coordinates. So if you're standing close to both a Tahoma and a Huntley, both windows down and radio playing, you'll only hear the one which is directly nearest to you. Once you move out of the range of one vehicle and into the other, the sound will immediately change. Pretty cool idea and I always thought it was a cool feature in the newer GTA games.

Yesss, this is a good idea. There's many things you can implement with open windows on this server.

Another being the ability to unlock a car from the inside when a window is down.

Sounds cool on paper, but I doubt it'd be worth the time to script such a thing simply due to SAMP limitations and constantly changing audio streams. I'd rather DEV time be dumped into something easier and more beneficial to the server.

There isn't a feasible way of doing this. Like Mike said, it sounds good on paper but would be a waste of resources.

What about after release, or when the simple things are already implemented

No from me. It would cause lag, plus it's not neccessary. Not everyone wants to listen the IG music.

Great Idea

This should propably be in game, when you roll your windows down, people outside your car can be hear the music you listening in your car. I support your idea, is brilliant.

You could easily do a /me or a /do, there’s no need for a whole system just for this.

Awesome suggestion, i fw this. These little things make a server iconic and enjoyable.
