On other servers many people would get their friends to purchase them VIP, and if the person got banned the other person would be banned too. I suggest adding a way to gift someone VIP. This suggestion isn't really critically needed, but would be useful. I understand they could use Paypal to transfer money, but some people don't have paypal. This system would make it simple.

Well ... the server would still benefit the donation.
I know it’s not allowed but maybe there should be a way to transfer namechamges or premium over to another user ? I am just thinking.
It’s definetly not a must have, so if it would be considered harmful to the server then I am not for it.
Nah, as Conspiracy said this can cause IC/OOC goods being traded about far too easily.
I like this idea, honestly. Some people donate for their friends and it eliminates the tedious process of having to find an alternative method if they don't have a PayPal. Although, I do think there'd be issues in regards to the IC/OOC transactions with this feature being implemented.

Depends how you look at it.
That would only make it easier for people who have alot of IG money to be able to purchase VIP in exchange for IG money, however most people are more interested in selling their IG money for actual real money, and so this wouldn't affect it.
If a person wants to trade their IG cash inexchange for VIP
Without gift codes =
Player A transfers Player B $20 on paypal
Player B gives Player A $200,000 IG cash
Player B uses that $20 to purchase VIP himself anyway
With giftcodes =
Player A gives a giftcode for Gold VIP to Player B
Player B gives Player A $200,000 IG Cash
Eitherway, it's just as easy to do. It honestly does not make anything easier, unless the person buying the IG cash does not have paypal and wanted to use something like DaoPay to buy the giftcode. However, most people are more interested in actual real life cash rather than trading it for VIP.

Well not necessarily. I mean, if someone is so into buying / selling IC stuff for OOC money, or vice-versa, they will find a way to do it either way.
Even if this is to be implemented, a simple and short script can be coded to find connections related to the interactions between the two people, OOCly and ICly. If something comes up, it should give a warning and the thing should be further investigated. It's a good idea, overall.
As other's have pointed out, this suggestion has the potential of being abused by players who are wishing to profit from IC goods which simply is unacceptable.
I do however understand that some players may want to gift other's the ability to be a VIP and therefore I will brainstorm a few alternative options.
However, for now this system will not be implemented - sorry :(
