I mean, it is a roleplay server. I hope that the majority of players have the common sense to roleplay traffic lights.

I mean, there are a lot of roleplay servers that don't roleplay the traffic lights, so they should be enforced. I'm all for traffic lights tbh.

I think as long as both parties agree to skip it it's fine especially when it's something like lag or some other shit. But having said that I think there should be a an OOC push to get people to start driving slower and not speeding around like complete idiots. It's unrealistic to have about 95% of the city driving like maniacs. If someone wants to be speeding around they should have an IC motive for it, it's ridiculous to see people going 100MPH, on the way to the local burger shot because the lost HP due to their shit driving. Also in SF you have a lot of sudden drops meaning if you're speeding you're more than likely to go fucking flying. I think some sort of OOC rule should be implemented to driving stupidly, where the player doing it must have a reasonable IC reason for it for example:

  • Driving under the influence
  • Going for a joy ride (With adequate RP following this)
  • Illegal street racing (that one hurt)
  • Evading Law Enforcement (or any one else in that matter)
  • Speeding to the hospital

There's obviously other reason, but with these there should also be good reasoning, for example if a group of teens decides to steal a car and go for a ride (Joyriding) this should obviously be a scene which is developed by the player. And breaking this rule should be faced mainly with kicks but A-jails in more serious.repeated offences. Implementing a rule like this would mean less crashing and less /b skip? scenarios and will make it more immersive for people. Take the cinematic trailer for example, you see cars driving slowly and stopping at intersections, that type of shit is immersive as fuck and actually seeing that in-game will help people stick around.
