To expand on this suggestion, I think instead of an admin having to change your skin, the uniforms should be part of the inventory system. When used, you have the selection of LEO skins(or medical if you stole their medical unifom) so that you can choose one to fit your race.
That would be awesome, but I think ots too much work to do for scripters. If they manage to script such system that would be incredible.
Sounds like a good suggestion to me. You see their uniforms and that stands out enough. Would a cop shoot his colleague in-game because he'll think that's a civilian suspect? Then again it's not a big deal and won't make a difference if they have tags. I think if they didn't have colored tags people just won't notice/care, but because they're present on so many servers, people are kind of used to them even though they don't know why.
Also civilians dressing as cops is a silly argument. Depending on which side of the argument you're on, you either need a skin to be set by an admin or your nametag color set by an admin. Even if you somehow get an admin to do all that shit for you, it will still be a scenario that's gonna happen really really really rarely. It shouldn't be a factor at all to this suggestion.

Seen exactly this in another server, inventory should have the skins, keys, badge and everything.
Remove badge colors, it's same because people often MG, cops and medics shouldn't have coloured names, they should wear uniforms and have badges, which means if you are in PD and you go on duty, you take a faction car and wear a proper uniform, factions should have badges to /showbadge ID. The command will show their position within faction, age, name, sex and also ICly it will include their picture. This suggestion is to expand abilities of roleplay, it would become possible to kidnap a cop, wear their uniform, you just RP it and admin will change your skin to uniform and players wont MG like "Your name is not blue so you are not a real cop".
Don't see any reason why not - prevents metagame, especially for detectives. There should also be a /presentbadge command for detectives to openly show their badge around their neck, for instance.

Now that's an awesome idea, since now we can have custom objects. A chain with a badge is a must for detectives.
I agree with this suggestion. Colored nametags just invite metagaming. You would be able to know if somebody is a government employee by their uniform, 0.3.8 will allow all skin types to have a uniform with the proper face.
They can't temporary set your name color, then they will have to stick around until you are done with whatever you are rolelaying. Also the example you provided is what I call MG, you can't clearly see if situation include cops, thats how its supposed to be, you need to take a look at uniforms.
No, you misunderstood me. What I meant is that when you see a group of people and five of them have uniforms, they are cops and therefore having the name blue, red, white or anything else will not change anything. However, it will make it easier for you, the one standing behind the computer screen, to realize what's going in the situation, who is who and so on.
However, I'm actually going to support this too. What you've said makes perfect sense and there isn't really a solid reason why cops/medics should have a special nametag color. Only staff members should.
