I was recently informed that potentially for the first month there will not be any application system in order to join the server. I think this is a very grave mistake - it specifically invites trolls, people who won't read the rules, people who don't speak the language at all, and hackers. A vetting system of some sort is ideal, otherwise the admin team will be THOROUGHLY overwhelmed depending on the server slots. If not that, I'd suggest recruiting a much larger staff team to handle the workload.
It may have only been a rumor, though - if that is the case, please close this suggestion.
Agreed, hopefully this server is going to be heavy-RP based, if that's the case, there has to be an application system. I don't mind it not being there for the first month though, as long as the admins are admining.
The staff team has to plan the server launch really carefully in my opinion. If they make an application system on server launch there will be over 1000 applications in less than a day so it will be a mess cause people are impatient. In my opinion, first month stays with no applications and obvious trolls and DMers get perma banned instantly, they will regret the trolling after they see the server is succeeding and its english SAMP RP’s future.
p.s there will obviously be 10 questions thingy upon character creation or w/e.
Hmm, yeah. They should make an appication system which consists of 10 questions about RP. At least 8 questions must be good. They should add some kind of a test that allows admins to see the player's English so they can check if it is up to the standards.
But for now, UCP is still under the development.
Anyway, people should apply before creating their character and join the server. Supporting this.
Everyone can agree this is needed. Even if there isnt a UCP when the server launches we still need some type of In-game system that will prove that players can role-play.
Maybe we could do something like PR:RP where the testers will review your application in-game instead of LS:RP where you need to apply 5+ times because "add more on robbing" and then when you fix the robbery rule it's "add more on rape".
Initially it is better that they at least have some kind of test that happens in game only rather than from the UCP such that from a pool of 200-300 questions about 20 are given randomly to the user and he/she must get at least 75% correct to pass the test. Some will obviously get their friends to do these for them but that is usually the case with character applications too. Still this will stop massive amounts of newbies joining and ruining the servers.
In game applications will be excruciating to handle on the opening day lmao, we are expected to go over the slots limit, so let's say 300 applications at once is just fucking a lot. I would rather wait until the UCP is totally done than get my hype wasted on some trolls who joined cuz we have no proper applications system. Take your time, this server has brought back most of us after we had lost it for samp, so this better be as good as possible.
A simple application that could repel hackers and trolls while we wait for the UCP is good enough. Although this does mean that the Staff Team would be met with over 300 applications in the first two days, or even in the opening day itself. It'll take them some time to reply to all those applications, but I can wait. Not sure if others are as patient, though.
