An Official Lore?

(Lore: The collective history and the sum of all knowledge available about a certain fantasy or sci-fi universe.)

Is it planned by the management for the server to have its own official and established lore? It would be helpful if one is decided before the server opens, so that we have the opportunity to make things clear before everybody makes a character with conflicting ideas of what San Andreas is. This would vastly help with immersion.

On LS-RP there are people who believe San Andreas are just islands while some others believe SA replaces California and parts of Nevada. There are also some who believe San Andreas is a landlocked state in-between Oregon and California. I am aware of several people who believed SA was in Europe as the server timezone was that of Western Europe.

Obviously the server is going to take place in a different universe than RL. It is my opinion that BA-RP should follow the 3D Universe (with some HD Universe elements when not contradictory) and real-life when there is no GTA world equivalent. This primarily goes for GTA brands as well as GTA lore; Cluckin' Bell replaces KFC, Liberty City replaces New York.

This also allows custom server-sided skins to display brands without copyright issues since they're that of GTA games and not trademarked real-life brands. Vehicles would also keep their original in-game name and would be associated with the corresponding GTA brands.

I've already gone through this on a post a few weeks ago so not to write it again, I'll link it below.

Also, this would be helpful to know what happens to Las Venturas and Los Santos since the server will be almost exclusively focused on Bay Area and its close surroundings. As some admins and myself have suggested the bridges to LV desert and LS would be blocked off but for what reason? Infrastructure, terrorist threats, earthquake? Would the bridges just be roadblocked or destroyed?

I'd personally like to see a lore to explain certain canonical aspects. I'd like to say there's a bridge from San Andreas to a bigger, "mainland" San Andreas which is an analogue to California. In addition, could just say San Andreas geographically replaces California if necessary.

I'd definitely say it was not based in Europe. That's pretty unnatural, considering it's a US state.

I just pretend the map is only a condensed version of the actual state, with many landmarks and cities in the State of San Andreas missing in-game (but existing), proof of this are the population estimates written on welcome signs like the one in Palomino Creek, the cities are so small it's impossible for them to have that many people, a small town close to where I live is twice as big as GTA SA's whole map and it still doesn't have as many residents as the single town of Palomino Creek alone.

I don't think we should RP everything from the GTA's Universe. Like why RP a Pisswasser when you can simply rp a Bud Light, or Sprite (Sprunk). Much more easier IMO. I agree with the vehicles though.

We'd need to discuss this and I personally believe that the lore behind the server will grow as the server does. I'll talk to a couple of the staff team and see if they're interested in help craft an introduction kind of thing, however I'm going to lock and archive this for now as it's not a priority or something that we're certain that we're going to implement.

Thank you for the suggestion though and hopefully something does come of it as I do like the idea.
