dont agree with this. how is meth, crack and cocaine not R* friendly? the whole vice city plot is based around a cocaine deal gone bad, you can sell heroin/coke/meth/weed in vcs and chinatown wars and multiple plot lines in gta sa and gta 5 revolve around selling meth, weed and cocaine. all the drugs are stated by their names as well and not some made up name. not to mention the whole game is based around stealing cars, killing people and roaming around. lets go for realism instead of shoehorning something into the game for no reason other than you don't like drugs
outside of this, good update fella cant wait to see the server up and running soon
I completely agree, I don't see a point in changing it.
Looks good. Thanks for the update Development team & others. Kane's really putting in some work though, good job man.
I don't really understand what's happening with the naming of drugs. Like other people said, GTA 5 even (the most recent R* game), blatantly states meth, cocaine, and other sorts of drugs even on the GTA Online modes. The cops also shout out vulgar language and shit like that all the time. It's a rockstar game, rated M, for mature.
If the names of the drugs are going to be vague but still carry the same effects and pretenses with it why not just keep it the same? Calling a cat "pussy cat" doesn't change anything because It's still a cat.
I don't have a personal problem with changing the name of it script-wise, just playing devils advocate. I think a feature like this should be left entirely up to the player base as we are the ones who are going to be utilizing it all the time. A simple poll would suffice to be fair, just playing devils advocate. Everything else is nice, good update.
Voiced my displeasure about the drug names on discord, but I'll do it here too.
I really, really don't like changing the name. I get that you're not going to pick stupid names and that the names are going to essentially mean the same thing as their real life counterpart, but it really bothers me. It's something that is probably going to break my immersion really badly if people use the terms IC, unless of course the names you pick are just nicknames for the actual drug. That being said, in the end I can live with it and just hope you guys reconsider in time.
Only problem I can see with the whole drug naming thing is new players calling it by that name in-game when they otherwise would have called it by the real life counterpart. Just seems a bit noobish if people were to do that. Otherwise, it doesn't make a difference at all what it's called. If you named it "cocaine" people would still find a million nicknames for it IC, so it doesn't matter, really, and shouldn't have any effect on people's gameplay.
I really respect how involved you guys are with the community in terms of gathering thoughts and opinions, and keeping us fully updated with full transparency. Most other server's administration would not give two shits. Thanks Damian & co.
I'm a bit lost in the drug naming issue, crack, cocaine, weed, meth and such have all been mentioned throughout the GTA series, both HD and 3D. But nonetheless, I can't wait till the server releases.
