That merit system is a blessing. Thank you for all the efforts, Damian and co.!

Great work! Can't wait to see you all in the server

Merit system sounds sick, that's the way it should work on all servers. Good luck.

Take your time peeps, just a little bit more! :)

So I will try not to speak for R* and re-iterate by saying it's my opinion that R* left certain social issues as innuendos or very vague and in terms of drugs they always made sure to not highlight it as something fun nor appealing. I also for one don't enjoy the dark nature of real drugs and the conversations that surround them. This is highly controversial I understand but I generally feel it's an aspect of the server I do not want so much emphasis on anymore. It doesn't mean I'm going to be naming Cocaine as "Sugar" or anything like that however, and they will still have proper un-biased development towards them in terms of distribution and such.

The whole "I' thing bugs me especially because of the effect this will have on the way criminals role-play. I just think this sets a bad precedent for other implementations to the server in the future if updates like this one that change the way we role-play are only implemented because the minority wants it. I think you should just hear what the server wants and give it to us. It's not hard to create a poll and get a general consensus of what people want.

I agree.  Rockstar made drugs a large part of Grand Theft Auto IV - so it's not something they haven't done or wouldn't do.  I think taking away real drug names takes away from the realism of the server.  A poll should definitely be taken.

Those drugs can be named like "Spice shop" products as M1/2/3, Golden Spice, Magic,  Pure, Ganja, Speed, bath salts, etc.

sounds good so far

Looking forward to the server opening! I hope there will be enough slots on day 1 for everyone to join.

Can’t really agree with the drugs idea but this is your server with your vision.

It's not how R* intended their games to be so we're going to respect that here. Will that mean we will be the word police ingame? No, I can't dictate how or what you choose to call the drugs ingame, but from an official standpoint they will be kept vague nicknames.

It's pretty clear the type of people welcomed here and it will become even more clear as each month passes. As I said before the drug thing is merely an example of the atmosphere this server will be providing. If this server doesn't exactly match the one scene in Sopranos you watched over and over please let me LINK you a server where you can call home w w w. l s - r p. c o m. Have a nice day!

Realism/Roleplay < FUN&FRIENDLY COMMUNITY!!! xDD

It amazes me as to how some people don't even want to give it a chance. People, first give it a chance then see whether you would like it or not. The server is not even open yet. The drug names is a tiny little thing, but it seems fun. We can only find out about this when the server opens, not now.

As I said, you guys can't be trying to shape up everything to your own taste. I've used this sentence many times and I'll use it again - SAMP servers are not your right, but a privilege.

Oh, God no. Please don't bring your kiss ass antics to this server, too. What would a server be without a generally happy community?

Anselmi (Member) ·

Isn't that what a community is supposed to be? We're the people that will be playing it, supporting it - even FUNDING it to some extent. How does it make sense to ignore the outcries and the needs of the community to put your own values first?

TeodoraMk (Premium Member) ·

I fail to see how I'm kissing someone's ass on this community or any community. If you bothered to read my whole post and not take things out of content, you would've realised that I'm expressing my opinion. Exactly my opinion.

I don't mind giving it a chance.  I don't mind the drug names being different than they are in real life.  What I am worried about is that the names might be bad and ruin my immersion.

The post that @DamianC made, made it seem like the fact that I want to be immersed in this game is a bad thing.  It also lumped me in with a group of players and generalized everyone who wants real names (or real sounding names) as people who are running away from LSRP because we think that we're better than that server and every other roleplay server out there, and made it sound like every single one of us is strangely obsessed with him for some reason and think that he's going to save us from these horrible servers.  I don't know if that's what he was intending, but that's the way it came off.  And it bothers me.

I was, and still am, very hopeful for this server.  I want it to be good.  That's why I'm somewhat contrary and come off as critical.  I feel like opinions should be listened to, whether you agree with them or not.  I also think that criticism can be immeasurably helpful when it's constructive, and I don't feel like I was being anything but constructive. Everyone can have valuable input on stuff like this and I think it's a bad idea to completely alienate a portion of your player base.  I don't know if anyone else feels alienated now, but I sure do.  And I didn't before.

Liam2 (Member) ·

I think the people should have a say. It's all about having fun and what's the fun in trying to enjoy someone else's vision?

Charlie Brown (Member) ·

I don't know anybody more out of touch with their community than DamianC.

I'm not here to make some sort of amends with you or to cater towards your sick obsession of being around me. I do. Not. Care. Take the post however context you want to be completely honest and run with it far from here.

make that community + reality lol

Get off your high horse. You say to people to give it a chance, when they voice their concern/opinion, but you criticize people when your opinion is raised. The whole point of a community is to be able to voice concerns; if people can't accept that, then they shouldn't be creating a community. Nobody is digging at Damian, they offered constructive criticism as they feel it would ruin immersion to call Marijuana something out of context.

@Zenophobia summed it up absolutely perfectly.
