Road Roleplay / Driving

I personally think the drivers licenses should be harder to get rather than just driving into checkpoints like every other server. Like fully practising parking, parallel parking and  everything. I think there should be indicators in vehicles too, and road roleplay to be taken way more seriously. For example, little things like flashing someone so that they can pass. I think it’ll make a huge impact on the roleplay.

UPDATE:: It’d actually be cool if we had driving instructor job after someone has actually mastered driving and is willing to help someone learn etc. Having driving instructors and actually taking the drivers license test seriously would be cool. EG: You can only have the test if an instructor is present etc

Exactly, because of most of the drivers thinks that they can easily get a drivers license and just fuck around the street. +1 for this suggestion.

tbh, very few people will play as driving instructor as most newbies do not RP and are frustrating to deal with in RP situations.

Also, very few people actually drive RP'ly, so it will be useless and frustrating to get driver license when you won't have to follow it afterward.

I think this will make no change and people will still drive the way they do.

Stop taking the easy route, and do it ICly already.

You'd require a massive infrastructure to do everything IC. I don't see how this would be beneficial on day one - for the most part, people tend to drive pretty recklessly regardless of how much they know about driving in real life. It's a GTA game. There's a reason there's fines and cops can pull people over. Adding more restrictions to getting a license wouldn't help the case very much, just be more of an annoyance than anything.

People will drive recklessly/stupidly regardless of whether the driving license is difficult to obtain.

that's a good idea

Wouldn't make a difference tbh.

As someone said, cops are to deal with the dummies on the road that don't follow the law and/or park illegally and such.. And if someone is really non-rply driving and making a ass out of himself you just report him and the admins will take care of such people.

I just hope everyone will rp seriously while driving.

The more developed the transportation services are (in this case, roadworks sector), the more flourished the driving license test would be.

A "driving license" in any RP server is just a formality that doesn't get the player in jail when they are pulled over by the police while driving. The fact that's almost always left out is, a driving license represents its wielder's successful effort in learning the signs, rules and regulations, and the ways of driving on the road.  A well-developed driving license test requires a well-developed system of rules, regulations that a person must follow while driving on the road.

So.. it is RPly dependent on the government department in charge of the transportation for the city.

not really a good idea, I mean hey look at RC-RP, most of the time people drive RP'ly even if the car license system is to drive to each checkpoint.

Cool in theory, but doesn't work in practice. Most new players won't bother to roleplay yet, especially if they are alone and no one's around. Also having a driving instructor job sounds fun but then again, new players won't RP if they are new to RP.

I support this .

Cool, support.

Guess I'll drive without license tho xD

Would be nice but I don’t think it’ll make any odds. Admins just need to strictly enforce realistic driving and people have to stop slamming into each other and doing “/b skip??? Sorry I lagge !!!” all the time. Don’t want to die, end up in hospital or wreck your car? Stop driving like a moron.

Could be interesting to have government-employed personnel deal with the San Andreas Department of Motor Vehicles. This coincides with another suggestion I posted on in which there could possibly be a motorcycle license to buy and ride bikes.

It wouldn't hurt to have the DMV roleplayed, in fact in almost every French RP server I was on it was a fully-scripted thing, it wasn't just a few checkpoints you have to reach at a certain time to get a license, there were questions. I was surprised to see servers like LSRP have such a RPG and severely outdated script. It would be beneficial so people ICly and OOCly are aware of the traffic laws.
