If this probation would be added, I feel like it should indeed be decided by the admin that banned the rulebreaker.

Personally I'm somewhat against it. I can think of better ways to spend my time than giving rulebreakers another chance and having to watch them like a babysitter of sorts.

Oops, didn't really finish my sentence. What I was trying to say was it should be up to the admin whether the player should be monitored or not. If the admin doesn't feel like watching over them, just tell em to reappeal later on. But then that brings me back to the rest of my point which is covered by your last sentence.

Plus probation was removed from LS-RP for that type of reason, it's more of a pain for admins to watch over players that banned.

That's just laziness, being a probation admin / tester was always optional for the staff team to join I ran it for years and it was honestly so easy to do and even enjoyable at times.

Probation was introduced by Damian years ago because of the continuous rules breakers and rule breakers who did something pretty bad towards the community. It was a way to contribute something positive to the community for the actions that you've done, repaying the community in a sense. It was a great system at the time because of the amount of people who would break rules that some how effected the community in a way and wanted to learn from their mistakes and actually give back to the community.

It's not something we need on BA:RP right now. The server's still in development and the planning stages and right now this is not something we're looking into doing. First of all there's no banned players and I doubt anyone is going to do something so extreme towards the first months or years of the server where they would qualify for the probation. It'd be pointless and a waste of time to open up right from the start of the server.

Or you could just ban them for X amount of time, and leave it from there lol.

A temporary/permanent ban is enough. Admins should focus on server/forum monitoring rather than watch over banned kids.

I personally disagree with enslaving players to do forum work to prove they're capable of coming back to the server. This post is only my opinion though as I haven't seen management state an opinion about it. If you do the crime, you do the time. No in-the-middle. The probation-scheme just stretches out more admins and tasks people with shit they shouldn't have to be doing, like monitoring banned players. I'd throw my hat in the bucket and say no for this one personally.

I find this pointless, exactly why LS-RP removed it. It wasn't really needed. Wasting staff resources as well.

Probation is something I think could be missed out at least for the first long tenure of BARP opening. I suggest a constant standard ban length for all large-scale banning reasons and keep it to that so people don't complain about unfairness.

No no no. Server hasn’t even opened yet. I sincerely hope this sort of system is avoided at least until a major problem revolving around ban evaders occur. As I remember it, a “permanent” ban is never permanent.

Idk if y'all knew this but only hackers had to go through probation, not everybody that was banned

Ban evaders did too. Some other banning reasons were resolved under the probationary scheme as well.

It's a majority no and this isn't necessarily a server suggestion but one for the staff team. Will be denied.
