Richard was born in Palermo, Italy, as the only child in his family. His parents were struggling for ages trying to have a child, but with no success, at least until Richard was born. They loved him all the way to the sky and back, they were really proud of him, even though he was just an average child. He always had whatever he wanted, but he didn't have siblings to share with, so he became a bit selfish and used to being in the centre of attention. As he was growing up he was taught that cash and power should be the only thing he cares about.
His father's business went bankrupt as a result of his debts, and Richard had to get a work to earn for a living. His life completely changed and he was angry with his parents because of that. His rage led him to making a quick, wrong decision, to leave Italy and move to America. His parents tried stopping him, but it's hard to control such a young head and he took a plane despite his parents' will. Soon after arriving to the city of San Fierro, he accompanied a young guy, similar to him, named Adam Caracappa, with whom he later went into illegal tides, being involved in minor crimes. They decided to join hands with other two criminals of Italian origin, Nicholas Langella and Joseph Cattaneo, and now they're all looking forward to making easy money in San Fierro.
