Trolleys in San Fierro

Maybe converting the tram from a vehicle to an object whose collision is different with the DL feature.

It would allow people to walk inside the tram, the roof would have no collision so it doesn't make you climb over it. And you could /sit on the benches inside the tram.

I imagine it would take too much time having to script a path for the tram if it's an object. It would be unable to stop if there's an object blocking the tram, unless stopped manually. The roads in SF are tight so people and their cars hitting the tram would be common.

My opinion I think cable cars can remain shut down until an easier solution is available. If in the future we can have custom server sided cars, then I think we could have a custom cable car that people can actually enter etc.

It's a good idea, but let the server open first.

NPCs - hard to make a system that doesn’t interfere with roleplay (I.e car accident in the road and BOOM Henry the fucking tram comes smashing through EMS)

Players - Could actually be a nice little side job Driving a tram around

another problem is you can’t enter as a passenger but it could probably be done scriptwise creating an interior and you get teleported into it

You may create an interior and glue it to the moving trolley. I don't actual remember if the actual object interior is mapped but I would bet on a negative answer. You may create some parameters for the mapped interior and variables for the teleportingTo locations and the allowed activation locations.

It is possible to create such an environment but you need to put some work in it. There are many ways this can be done, but the best one is to let the player interact with the environment by letting him see the moving interior glued to the object, so he can see the location and the activity "outside".

The only bugs that may appear is falling through the interior as the object is moving, the 3rd person camera movements as the glued interior would be small and failing to teleport at the right position due to connection latency.

I saw a script where you can enter the tram as a passenger, I'll ask the developer.

Pretty sure that nowadays they use trams that have more bodies than just one, along with modern trams. Old schools are still there though, apparently (?)

Unfortunately though, this can't be that well implemented in SAMP without the need for a command to get in a tram interior and bla bla bla, you can't even look outside of it then. So, the practical use of trams IG is almost zero, BUT, I think we should have NPC ran trams just for the sake of the environment. I mean, it would be nice to see the tram around on the street, even if it's always going to be empty, better than nothing.

I would like both imagine a job like pizza delivery and for each stop you would receive money.

Ngl, this a good idea.

This would be a nice addition to side-jobs for players to earn a quick few bucks.

I feel like if a player decides to walk in front of a moving team and gets hit by it, that’s their fault. The PD/FD should be able to stop the tram and make it halt at its current position via a /tram command or something.

The thing Rehasher said about the interior would be a really good touch but wouldn’t it take a lot of work? How would you know where you are unless you somehow sync it with the minimap?

I'll see if this is feasible.
