Prison Break System

I understand a lot of you aren't open to the idea but its probably because you can't imagine it in play.  Your opinions are welcome but using nonsense excuse like the following don't make any sense.

To those who say its "gamey" - This is a game afterall if you don't like it don't participate. This would be no different then that bank robbery system ls once had that 1 no one used. 2 people couldn't get away with.

To those who say get admin permission - This is a waste of an admins time to sit there spectating people roleplaying a jail break.

To those who say this is unrealistic/Jailbreaks are rare - Its unrealistic to get out of jail after murder/Its unrealistic to be in jail for 4hrs/90% of the people on the server will have served jailtime at one point or another. This arguement is poor.

I like the idea, specially the updated part of it. But, there has to be guarantees that DOC won't be busy dealing with prison breaks 24/7, such system will be for sure overused if it won't be properly regulated by the staff team. However, I support the overall idea.

The issue is you can only suspend your disbelief so far. Someone being in jail for hours is a lot more acceptable than people breaking out every day. There's alternatives that are a lot better in the grand scheme of things. What about a decent parole system? You get released after half-time, and it models recidivism and parole-arrest rates. I think prison breaks should just be exceedingly rare, otherwise prison will be meaningless for the most part. Everyone will take a chance at escape. It also calls into question what conditions an escape can be attempted at. Is there prerequisites? What about rules? What would need to be scripted?

Admin permission doesn't mean an admin needs to watch there and spectate it. It could simply mean they detail the plan to the admin and the admin gives the go-ahead. It's differentiating between someone who doesn't really take the sentence seriously and just wants to get out without a plan at all and someone who really wants to invest time and effort into that specific brand of roleplay.

It's a bit of a straw man to say that just because X is unrealistic means that you shouldn't care if Y is unrealistic. I don't care about making everything realistic. I don't care for realism if it does not equate to fun. But I can tell you definitively - I worry about this not being fun, especially if prison breaks are frequent. It's much better, I believe, to just implement a parole system where people can get early release and go do what they want to do with the risk of being caught committing a crime during their parole term. Is this an agreeable solution? It's the same principle, but it offers much more freedom to the player involved. Plus, it's more interesting for both parties - someone who just escaped prison is likely to just run away from any confrontation, whereas someone on parole might stick around with police and interact with them, maybe even trying to hide drugs or weapons in the process. For an escaped criminal, it might give them a blank cheque to attack police, because they're actively wanted. Knowing other SAMP servers, people who were wanted were not afraid of killing cops. How much are we going to extend their permission to kill police? People might use this as a bill to DM.

The only way I'd be satisfied with a system like this being implemented is if there are very coherent risks involved. Very big risks. Not CK-worthy stuff, because I feel that's way too restrictive, but restrictions on the ability to do it again after it's done once. The updated version is definitely in the right direction, though. But still, I don't think that we should change things only on the basis of being different than other servers. If it worked there, why wouldn't it work here? Changing certain things, I feel, is great - there is a need for changes, don't get me wrong. And there's routes of expansion, expanding upon things that worked. But do we want to risk implementing a system that isn't really 100% necessary that might not work and could be easily abused? I'd prefer scripting effort be devoted towards house robberies, dynamic fires, firearms identification, detective scripting, registration, serial numbers, and other assorted stuff like that. Flesh out the roleplay aspect of committing a crime, specifically doing interesting stuff in prison to spend your sentence.

If you get killed in the process u should be ck'd, or lots of time added to ur sentence so people actually think twice.  Only 1 percent of state prisoners actually attempt it
