Origin
In 1968, Mexican American inmates of the California state prison system separated into two rival groups, Norteños and Sureños ,according to the locations of their hometowns. Norteños, affiliated with the Nuestra Familia, were prison enemies of the Southern Latinos, who are composed of members and affiliates of La Eme, better known as the Mexican Mafia. While La Eme had initially been created to protect Mexicans in prison, there was a level of abuse by members of La Eme towards the imprisoned Latinos from rural farming areas of Northern California. The spark that led to the ongoing war between Norteños and members of the Mexican Mafia involved a situation in which La Eme allegedly stole a pair of shoes from a Northerner. This event put into motion the longest-running gang war in the state of California and the founding of Nuestra Familia.
Ocean Flats
Ocean Flats Norteños XIV was found by a bunch of local Mexicans that used to hang around with each other each day and had known each other for quite some time now, The block was formed because of the violence that used to happen around that area. It is a war zone and anything could happen at any time, from a drive-by to a mass brawl. You’d notice people spraying the walls with their own graffiti styles, some are decent but most of them are unreadable. The locals gathered up for a meeting at a backyard of a house to discuss this issue that’s been around for some time and they finally started noticing that it wasn’t right and they had to fix that. The people that were here from day 1 set the tasks for the young people to be on high alert and always check their surroundings.
Alonso Perez
Alonso Perez is a 19 year old dropout, he lives at the southern corner of Ocean Flats and usually plays sports or any other activities with his friend that lives beside him. He met up with him at the meeting in the backyard. Alonso’s friend didn’t like to give out his name to anybody except his family, so Alonso made up a name for him, His name was ‘’Lil Puppet’’. Alonso got that name because he saw something in his dream the other day that resembled a puppet, and Alonso’s friend was not that tall so that’s how he got that name for him. Alonso Perez knew him for quite a time now and Lil Puppet trusted him even more so puppet approached Alonso with a small baggie with that contained something white in it. Alonso assumed that it was cocaine and he was right! Lil Puppet quietly asked Alonso: ‘’Do you have any interests?’’. Alonso shook his head and wasn’t into the mood to take drugs at the moment. Lil Puppet turned around a went back to his house. The next morning, Alonso Perez went to Lil Puppet’s house and he found it strange that left his door open. Alonso checked inside and didn’t hear anything coming from upstairs. He quickly rushed up stairs to check if he was there and he wasn’t. Alonso got concerned about him but on the other side he didn’t really care. He thought that he would come back so he waited and waited.
Rodrigo Alvarez
Rodrigo Alvarez is a 19 year old boy who lives in Ocean Flats, San Fierro. Life has never been easy for Rodrigo.
When he was 8 years old his parents died in a car accident. At that time he was a young little boy but he loved his parents very much.
Since his parents died, Rodrigo started living with his grandmother in a small apartment in Ocean Flats. Growing up without his parents was difficult for Rodrigo.
But at the age of 16, he started consuming drugs and alcohol in his neighbourhood. He also started selling cocaine for some criminals to earn some money and to help his grandmother with her medicines.
In his neighbourhood he was known as "Paco". This nickname was "sticked" by his hood best friends.
When Rodrigo turned 18 his grandmother died because she used to suffer from a bad disease. At least Rodrigo had the small apartment left and he started living alone. Now Rodrigo is 19 years old and he still sells drugs in his hood but now he is one of the most famous drug dealers around Ocean Flats.
