As far as I know this is a heavy roleplay server, understanding meta gaming should be known by everyone connecting and just having a script to help “prevent” this whilst causing several issues that is basically a concession with SAMP and in roleplay in general because of limitations is just poor.

I also am a big fan of immersion but this won’t help it, it will make things tedious and so script reliant, people shouldn’t have to BE so reliant on the script. Meta gaming reports aren’t even that difficult to process and do, in most cases even if your PC is unable to record your game even screenshots are sufficient for those reports.

I did not really want to write but I have to agree, it is a great tool for immersion, but it's really going to be a hassle writing it and keeping check of it.  Nothing is impossible tbh, but the man hours, priority and effect are things that do matter a lot more than just a good immersion.  I doubt that the developers would really add it in the end.

To be honest I am not really a fan of this kind of features. It makes me think about a light-roleplay server. Shouldn't it be a Heavy Roleplay server? If someone joins our game server it means that he wrote his application and we accepted it so he must have read all the rules and obviously he has to know how to roleplay properly.

Just because someone should do what they are supposed to do doesn't mean they will do that.  How many do lie even when their religion says not to, how many people do corruption even when their department makes them take an oath.  A person with a bad intention will do what they want, having a good counter measure isn't what we should depreive ourselves from.  Just a food for thought.

I've actually done this before, every player had a 4 digit number to be identified by and all they had was ID: 4043 for example above their heads and if a player met the other player and learnt each others name, they would be added to each others "friends list" and could see each others name tags.

Really good against metagaming.

I'm looking forward for the idea to be implemented, but most importantly log everything so it will be much easier for admins to solve reports.

No thanks.

This seems like a solution for something which really doesn't have much of an effect.

Explain the worst things that can happen from you knowing someones nametag and 'metagaming'.

If you metagame their name you will simply be reported. This seems like we're leaning more towards script than common sense IMO.

I remember that. It was a decent little thing. While I'm not too bothered about it (the suggestion) being added or not, if it does get added I rather have your old system implemented than the suggestion. It's just nice, simple and probably a lot easier to deal with altogether.

I understand the reason for the suggestion but in the end even this will not keep people from metagaming.

Yes sure, but keep in mind that without names you won't be able to know the character's race or ethnicity, you won't be able to recognize your faction's members and your rivals (if they both are asians for example), it might cause confusion.

I agree with Snob. Especially for Law Enforcement. Unless we can add different faces for each person which is impossible for a big playerbase, I do not see this solution as feasible.

It's an amazing idea, there's just too many flaws with it for it to work imo.
