HAKEEM STAPLES JR. – BACKGROUND/TRIVIA

Hakeem Staples Jr. was brought into the world by a Muslim African-American couple. Their names are Hakeem Ali Jamil "PayDay A.J." Staples Sr. (Father) and Halima Taraji Staples-Rodgers (Mother).

He was brought up in the low income neighborhood/district of Ocean Flats, which is known for its terrifying crime rates and overwhelming gang violence. It is said to be one of the grimiest neighborhoods in all of San Fierro. This neighborhood has historically been dominated by the Black P. Stones gang, and in more recent times, circa 1994., the Black Gate Stones and its sub-set counterparts. The Black Gate Stones gang, emerging from the larger, Black P. Stones umbrella, has inherited a tie to Islam, which explains the area having a large amount of Muslim families. 

Hakeem Staples Jr. is the oldest son of Hakeem Staples Sr., which has been participating in gang activities since a very young age. His mother, Halima T. Staples died in a gang related shooting which occurred when Hakeem was only two years old. It is rumored to be tied with the Rollin' 30's Original Harlem Crips, as an act of retaliation.

Currently Hakeem Staples Jr. is a newly inducted member of the O's Crip Killas, a clique of the Black Gate Stones. His older cousin, Cordell Rodgers, is also member of the same gang, just the Bopout City clique.
