Why and what?
Having used SnowFX 1.01 for the past couple of years during winter, there's always been a couple of features I have found missing or that are in the need of a tweak. This year I finally decided that I would make those changes happen, so here I present to you: SnowFX version 1.02!
When the SnowFX mod was originally released back in 2008 CLEO 4 had not been released, but using one of the later versions of CLEO brings the benefit of being able to make use of ini files, etcetera. Read below for all the current features!
Features (differences from SnowFX v1.01)
- Removed the splash screen that previously showed when starting the game
- Added a sound when switching snow level
- Cleaned the main script, removed some segments and optimised the code to make it run faster
- Mod now supports custom activation keys that can be changed in an ini file
- Added option to switch out level 2's weather to be the same as level 1 (ini file)
- You no longer have to run a .exe file to install the mod. Just download the mod, extract it and drag two folders into your GTA SA directory
Source code is included in the cleo files if you want to make your own tweaks to it

Installation:
Copy the "cleo" and "models" folders into your GTA SA directory (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).
Make sure that you back up "effects.fxp" and "effectsPC.txd" if you are using a mod and don't want it to be overwritten. Default file backups are included in the mods "models" folder.
If you want to change the activation keys you may do so in "snowfx_config.ini".
Uninstallation:
Delete the following files from your GTA SA directory:
cleo/SnowFX-Start.cs
cleo/SnowFX-Frost.s
cleo/SnowFX-
SNOW
.s
cleo/snowfx_config.ini
models/txd/snowfx.txd
models/effects.fxp
models/effectsPC.txd
Remove "bak_" from "bak_effects.fxp" "bak_effectsPC.txd" to restore the original files. If you are using mod, use the mod's files instead.

USAGE
Use CTRL + NUMPAD+ to activate the snowing effects or CTRL + SPACE if you have the laptop fix.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Are you using a gta_sa.exe that is compatible with mods? If not, download — Log in or sign up to download gta_sa.exe (v1.0 US).
- Download — Log in or sign up to download and drop Silent's Asi Loader into your game directory.
- Download — Log in or sign up to download and replace this file.
