BULGARIAN ORGANIZED CRIME
Organized crime in Bulgaria has been an ongoing problem for more than two decades and arguably a huge key figure in its economic struggle after 1990s. OC in Bulgaria has a corrupting grip on most of the institutions including the parliament and the judicial system. Having strength and immunity from law, OC grew far too strong with no resistance shown by the ineffective Bulgarian legal system, so strong that the reach of their illegal activities stretched out to western Europe and some reports show that occasional seized counterfeit currency likely came from organized crime groups associated or working with Bulgarian OC. OC activities within Bulgarian borders include financial fraud, tax evasion,international money laundering, drug trafficking, and mainly currency counterfeiting. With the introduction of sophisticated printing machines researches show that Bulgarian OCGs are the leaders in counterfeiting technology and schemes. The main counterfeit currency that OCs in Bulgaria have been working with are the Euro banknotes that are being smuggled into France and Spain, though lately many raids showcase seized counterfeit US dollars. U.S. based investigations show that many weapon trafficking organizations have been dismantled and leads point that they were being run by Bulgarian nationals. These organizations manged to import large multi-kilo quantities of cocaine and untraceable firearms, however most of the illicit cargo coming in vanished with the organizations after the international collaboration between E.U. and U.S. authorities. The peril of organizations not yet known to the U.S. is still present but U.S. authorities are trying to prevent the import of narcotics and illegal arsenal. Other investigations in the U.S. have identified Bulgarian nationals manufacturing and selling false identity documents for use in organized bank fraud, mortgage fraud, credit card fraud, and alien smuggling.
LOS SANTOS POLICE DEPARTMENT SEIZED ORGANIZED CRIME GROUP BOSS
Los Santos' special police unit for fight against organized crime arrested Tuesday afternoon the leader of a crime group, dealing with the production and traffic of amphetamines and cocaine. Recently other seven Bulgarian citizens of San Andreas, residing in Los Santos, from the same group were arrested on suspicions they maintain close relations with Anton Radenkov Zarev, head of the gang. The operation for the arrest is a continuation of a secret operation held in May in Los Santos. Before the arrests, all of the arrested individuals were investigated for the production, traffic and distribution of narcotics. The Los Santos PD have been monitoring the crime circle for over two years, during which they seized large amounts of amphetamine, cocaine and an illegal amphetamine lab was raided and busted. The LSPD has pressed drug trafficking, drug distribution, drug manufacturing and cultivation charges against Anton Radenkov Zarev, considering Zarev's previous appearance in court regarding his RICO case, state's attorney Lola Trejo set 27 years of imprisonment for Anton Radenkov Zarev. Another two suspected Zarev's associates are awaiting trial on drug distribution conspiracy.
