Faction vehicles.

Okay, nearly every server I have seen is using same stupid non-realistic thing. Whenever you try to enter faction vehicle, it says "You are not in a faction" which is wrong. Create a command like /flock as faction lock, therefore it's going to be possible to enter faction vehicle and even steal it and drive it which brings up shitload of roleplay opportunities.

seen this on many servers, faction vehicle lock system is same as civillian lock system/hotwire system. Fully support this, it will improve roleplay a lot.

I would counter on the basis that it is unrealistic for someone in real life to hijack a police car just like that. Not saying that it's not possible, just saying that it's not something that happens frequently in real life. No one would attempt to hijack a police car at first glance, when compared to what most players do when spam pressing Enter  in an effort to get any vehicle, regardless of its status in the virtual world. Not everyone would be prepared mentally to face the consequences of hijacking a police car, which would definitely be a serious crime.

In my opinion, your suggestion would make more sense if the ability to steal any government/law enforcement/medical vehicle is restricted unless and until the player has reached a certain level.

That's not quite right because player can be high level but still be worse than level one newbie. But some kind of rule is really needed, it shouldn't be allowed to hijack faction vehicle without proper roleplay, even if you see unlocked abandoned cruiser, you should RP properly and not just simply jump in and drive.

I am pretty sure that nearly no one will try to jack GOV vehicles even if it's available for every level, I'm saying this cause I've seen it in other servers and there were no problems at all. It'll mostly be used for organized crimes/heists/kidnappings/breaking out a friend and stuff.

The higher the status, the more credibility and recognition a player gets. Unless the newbie player's justification is logical enough to make more sense than what the experienced player is saying, it is a given to always prioritize the experienced player's opinion and status first before going towards the newbie player for his/her opinion or status. In a virtual world where you can only type and anticipate what may happen next, you can only depend on certain tools and statistics to judge a player's opinion and actions. Nevertheless, you still got my root concern of hijacking a law enforcement vehicle without mental preparation or fear.

More experienced player can just create second account, limiting players RP abilities judging on his level doesn't seem right to me that's why it's better to make proper RP before hijacking rule.

SFPD could have decided to get vehicles with SecureLock. Videos of the system in action are included below.

FPIU

This system is very simple to install and can be added to the entire police fleet if they decided they wanted such a system. They even have an extensive list of installation guides. Patrol cars can also be tracked if they have a computer inside and powered on. The computers usually have cellular connections that enable them to use the internet to perform their tasks.

I personally do not have any issues with such a feature. However, many people in the SAMP community would utilize such a feature to get themselves a "free" car instead of working to get their own vehicle.

As many people have stated, I also believe the mindset of people who will steal police cars is not proper. They will take the vehicles without fear of retribution. People already kill others on RP servers without roleplaying the effects of taking another human's life.

If they abuse that feature, they will be punished. Its nonRP behaviour if you just steal faction car without fear or with a poor reason.

No, there are certain systems in place to prevent this.

AceS| (Member) ·

Nah, you'd literally see everyone stealing cop cars and such.

Buster (Member) ·

While I do realize that it would definitely be realistic, this is something that can be easily abused. As Aces said, make this possible and you'd see a lot of people stealing cop cars. Not saying that it's not possible IRL but this is something that is really not likely to happen on an everyday basis.

This will do more harm than good. I doubt anyone in this community are mature enough to respect this script and avoid abusing it. Besides, all government vehicles have SecureLock which automatically lock your vehicle once you step out and it also automatically locks the engine if I am not wrong. Specter has the point.

You guys don't understand that if a player just ejects the cop from the car and takes it, its against rules, considered as nonRP behavior so that won't happen. If you take a faction vehicle without enough RP or without sufficient reason, you will be punished by an admin so don't worry about the abuse. If someone abuses it, they will be reported and asked by an admin and eventually punished for nonRP behavior.

I actually cant believe people are against this suggestion, the OOC limit to enter faction cars is just soooo unrealistic and non-sense and I havent seen it in any server except LSRP. It was never a problem, trust me no one will ever try to steal a cop car unless its an organized crime/heist or something.

1) If the community turns out to be bunch of trolls who abuse everything in-game, the community will die within a few months. Most of the players in this community and players who take it seriously and like to RP.

2) Even without securelock, from my suggestion you can see that faction members should be able to lock and unlock their cars so it doesn't matter what kind of lock it has. Even with securelock, it's possible to steal it. For example you might get into a shootout with cops and kill a cop before he exits the car and hijack his vehicle, that's just one of the examples.

True.
