Faction vehicles.

Absolutely agree, faction members should be able to lock their vehicles. But even if the cruiser is left unlocked and with the engine running, most law enforcement vehicles are equipped with a runlock system, so unless the officer forgets the key in the ignition then anybody who tries to drive off with a cruiser would just stall the engine. As for abuse, almost nobody carjacks civilian vehicles to begin with because of how tedious it is. It could happen a little more to officers but not by a huge margin. I think introducing car keys as actual items people have in their inventory would be the best way to properly allow civilians to steal and drive government-owned vehicles, as opposed to making them unable to enter the car just because they're not part of the faction.

That sounds awesome. Thanks for support.

I support this. This will teach PD to be responsible for their vehicles and not just log off or leave abandoned cruisers in the middle of the street because that's really annoying.

Support. SFPD will learn to lock their vehicles just like everyone else on the server :)

Nah, you'd literally see everyone stealing cop cars and such.

Most departments have their vehicles with fleet keys. If you get the exact "key alike" you can start the car. If you have a fleet key to the same vehicle model, you can unlock the car, glovebox, and trunk. Infact, most civilians also have fleet keys and some buy as many fleet keys as they can for this single purpose.

EDIT: It also appears that Ford has integrated a variation of "SecureLock" as part of a Ford engineered product. SOURCE (SLIDE 2)

That's not quite right because player can be high level but still be worse than level one newbie. But some kind of rule is really needed, it shouldn't be allowed to hijack faction vehicle without proper roleplay, even if you see unlocked abandoned cruiser, you should RP properly and not just simply jump in and drive.

The higher the status, the more credibility and recognition a player gets. Unless the newbie player's justification is logical enough to make more sense than what the experienced player is saying, it is a given to always prioritize the experienced player's opinion and status first before going towards the newbie player for his/her opinion or status. In a virtual world where you can only type and anticipate what may happen next, you can only depend on certain tools and statistics to judge a player's opinion and actions. Nevertheless, you still got my root concern of hijacking a law enforcement vehicle without mental preparation or fear.

Dude, first of all. No one wants that "level" shit. Second, I remember when I joined some random RP server and the players who have much higher level than my character's. When I walked to them, they thought I was a newbie and some kind of noob. They started to make fun of me in /b , so when I started to RP'ing with them, they remained silent OOCly afterwards. Because my RP was apparently better than theirs. And then I left that server for good because I noticed, these players were really arrogant.

Anyway, this suggestion sounds really good but I think, if you do /flock. It should alert all the adminstrators in-game and the logs will be saved of these ones who attempt to /flock. So, when a player does /flock. Admin will be informed of this by the script. He/she will accept the "alert" and go spectate the player who tries to steal the vehicle. The admin will ask the player, why he/she is doing this. Just one question. If there is a good reason, admin will watch how the player breaks into the faction vehicle by roleplaying. If it is good, admin will give the player access for this faction vehicle's ID. Anyway, if the faction vehicle is stolen. PD will be informed of this.

In case.

If the faction vehicle is unlocked, and the player can easily steal it. The PD will be immediately informed of this.
