no wonder you got kicked out of your own server, youre lazy
server was meant to have opened on the 26th of November
it’s now 2018
Guess you really don't know much about the internal politicking of LSRP. There's much more to LSRP politics than that. You didn't sit in channels with the present managers and hear them brutally shit-talk people who they had just acted nice to. There's a precedent at LSRP - when you hear someone in a channel shit-talking someone else behind their back, you know for a fact that they're also shit-talking you and everyone else in the channel at the same time. That's cowardly. I respect Damian because he's willing to speak about his intentions openly. Even if I think the intentions might not be in the best interests of me. At LSRP, every decision made was always a surprise and you'd be lucky to receive a well-polished and valid explanation. For the most part, every decision was veiled in secrecy or had multiple layers to it that you had to peel away like an orange. Once you got to the core of the issue, you realized that the decision was never made in the interests of the server - it was always made just as a means of increasing power. Look at the recent FM changes if you want a prime example. Someone got thrown under the bus and a very select group of people benefited as a result. That's enough LSRP politics, though.
To make sure a product is ready for release, it requires polishing. I'd rather the server be released a fully finished product with no bugs than a piece of shit rock-sculpture that barely functions.
I'm not sure what exactly your point is. People expecting LSRP V2 immediately upon released are going to immediately be disappointed - that's not how any of this works. In fact, if I joined and was told "This is gonna be just like LSRP!" I would probably not have very high hopes. This is pretty much why I've warmed up to the idea of new drug names already, to be honest. It's a filter to keep the type of people away who started forcing other people to conform to their arbitrary standards. I was part of a movement on LSRP to start reforming police roleplay and ultimately we did. But to start reaching into people's roleplay which doesn't necessarily effect my own perturbed me - I didn't have any issue with Idlewood or mall roleplayers. They had fun, and so did I. I didn't like the way they roleplayed, frankly I thought that often times some of them weren't there for the roleplay, but so long as they follow the rules it's no skin off my nose. It's a part of the environment you can interact with. I don't agree with the decision to have non-realistic names, but at the same time it's not going to ruin my ability to portray a realistic character struggling with addiction. It's not a game-breaking bug. It's not a quit-worthy decision. If the administration team started trying to enforce a standard where EVERYONE needed to roleplay EXACTLY how they wanted them to, then I'd quit. But drug names is very miniscule, frankly, in the grand scheme of things - the script looks fantastic, and it's a fresh concept. So long as I can roleplay how I want to roleplay, I'm happy.
As the person who made the huge writeup everyone is now championing as "ahh look at the tyranny!", look at it this way - the very fact you're allowed to express your opinion without much consequence and constructively already is a good sign. One of the most massive issues that inevitably impeded and halted any developmental progress at LSRP was a clear lack of any passion or vision at the upper echelons. Everyone was very thoroughly entrenched in their own camps and satisfied with clique-based back-stabbing politics, trying to get rid of people who thought differently or work against someone else. Here? I haven't seen any sign of people being shit-talked for having a different opinion. Every administrator appears to have the same goal. So ease up - let's just see how it goes. You don't need to agree with every rule or decision, but ask yourself very personally if you think it will ruin your ability to have fun. In all likelihood, it probably won't. What's better? A staff team that will throw eachother under the bus or a team where everyone is working towards a common goal? Which one sees a community fail and which one sees a community succeed?
I still don't necessarily agree with the decision, but I'm not going to be an asshole about it. If you're here to be an asshole about it, you're not championing a cause, you're just being detrimental. I'm satisfied with the answer of no - sometime down the line, who knows? It might even change. But I'm happy to try it out and see what the changes are.
