Get off your high horse. You say to people to give it a chance, when they voice their concern/opinion, but you criticize people when your opinion is raised. The whole point of a community is to be able to voice concerns; if people can't accept that, then they shouldn't be creating a community. Nobody is digging at Damian, they offered constructive criticism as they feel it would ruin immersion to call Marijuana something out of context.

@Zenophobia summed it up absolutely perfectly.

Exactly.

From all the shitstorm I've read I think the regular drug names are better and easier to script, let's make it simple for everyone.

Zenophobia (Member) ·

Given some time I'm having less of a knee jerk reaction.

I still have my reservations but I'm hopeful everything is going to workout in the end.

tw1ster (Member) ·

I think a lot of people here are over reacting,

There are no solid name choices in place for replacing the drugs as of right now, to the best of my knowledge. I think it would be a lot more helpful if we channeled all of this energy they're using to debate into theory-crafting/finding names for the drugs. People are personally attacking one another over the name of made-up drugs in a GTA:SA script, come on now. Is it going to be that painful if Marijuana is renamed to pot? Weed? Grass? Reefer? Ganja? I don't think it will be. And when have some of you guys who are so adamant about this ever really take some time out and RP around drugs? It's concerning to see LEO role-players basing the server's roleplay quality around drug names when they don't even RP around drugs, let alone the server not even being released. Some of you guys don't really even see the gold-mine this could be because you're so against the change. Back when I was talking with KaylaSpace and a congregation of other people who actively ran official gangs about changing the drug system, they would have jumped at the chance to name their own product. This could be a possibility with the new script, being able to create your own product and be able to have it script-wise named after your signature title. You guys should approach this server with an open mind and give Damian, if no one, a chance. 90% of you guys played on LS:RP and consider some of your golden-era years of role-play on a server he, along with help designed.

I know for certain that I and other admins are working alongside other community members to tap into their knowledge about certain aspects of an RP server, with the only goal to improve systems we're setting in place. The end goal here is to have an amazing RP server we can all enjoy for years to come. There aren't going to be many roleplay servers being created for the English-speaking community at the size this one has, and while I believe debating is healthy, so is having an open mind and a willingness to try a system out.

I just want this to be out already

Buck (Premium Member) ·

To the people that keep complaining, remember that on your beloved community, a similar technique was applied, where leaders forced changes that went against the general population for the greater good. But people gave it a chance. So shut up and let it be, you don't know how it's going to be until it's launched. If it really is that bothering after the server is launched, something will be done about it, but you need to stop complaining.

Anselmi should honestly be banned already, he's constantly bashing at the management, it's just silly.

Thanks for the update.

Sounds good, can't wait.

"I will make one final post about this matter and the server in general to get everyone on the same page and or help people to understand just exactly where you're at right now. As I said before I am not nor am I ever trying to be your savior from whatever roleplay server you're running from, be it LS-RP or the many other roleplay servers you feel are beneath you. I'm not here to cater towards absolutely anyone, I may have a specific vision in mind for this server, but neither I or Rehasher are going to sit on the forums or in Discord modeling this server to be anything but what we have in mind already. Feedback is nice but we don't need a cabin full of captains.

I managed and worked on LS-RP for years, eight years to be exact. I witnessed the highs and lows and took it places I could only dream of before. It was amazing being apart of it but in an instant it was over. Everything I worked on was dismissed as if I was nothing and to harden the blow it was welcome by actual cheers, approval, and worst of all silence from a majority of people. It hurt, and it was something I had to grieve and get over for literally a year. I'm blessed now and I love my life and I wouldn't change a thing about what happened but it doesn't mean the past didn't hurt.

I'm in a different stage in my life and I still have a lot of tendencies where I have to check myself. I am not nor will I ever be the easiest person to deal with and I'm actually putting in measures to not only keep staff in check with the community but myself in general. Because everyone is in this together in some sort of measurement, even the people sitting around shitposting. But I am certain of one thing, when it comes to the vision of this server it's based off a lot of past reasons which I'm very unapologetic about.

I don't care about your issues with LS-RP or what ever other roleplay servers you feel you're better than. Work out whatever festering issues you have in your heart towards these servers over there. To alot of you I'm going to be that same Damian you had a problem with before, I'm not here to make some sort of amends with you or to cater towards your sick obsession of being around me. I do. Not. Care. Take the post however context you want to be completely honest and run with it far from here.

It's pretty clear the type of people welcomed here and it will become even more clear as each month passes. As I said before the drug thing is merely an example of the atmosphere this server will be providing. If this server doesn't exactly match the one scene in Sopranos you watched over and over please let me LINK you a server where you can call home w w w. l s - r p. c o m. Have a nice day!

To the people still on board we will keep it moving from here."

After reading this I think he's fairs on that one.

Cool to see you here, nice ideas man.

@lmao2 - You are really immature, if you got time to sit on your ass 12 hours a day, it doesn't mean everybody else does too. People got real lives out there. Also, if you don't like the server, don't join it, honestly. Not everyone is after elitism, not every RP server has to be in line with your vision. I'd actually, and honestly like you to stay out, as a member of the community, because I have a feeling you'll be one of those toxic players that will ruin my time here.

no wonder you got kicked out of your own server, youre lazy

server was meant to have opened on the 26th of November

it’s now 2018

Guess you really don't know much about the internal politicking of LSRP. There's much more to LSRP politics than that. You didn't sit in channels with the present managers and hear them brutally shit-talk people who they had just acted nice to. There's a precedent at LSRP - when you hear someone in a channel shit-talking someone else behind their back, you know for a fact that they're also shit-talking you and everyone else in the channel at the same time. That's cowardly. I respect Damian because he's willing to speak about his intentions openly. Even if I think the intentions might not be in the best interests of me. At LSRP, every decision made was always a surprise and you'd be lucky to receive a well-polished and valid explanation. For the most part, every decision was veiled in secrecy or had multiple layers to it that you had to peel away like an orange. Once you got to the core of the issue, you realized that the decision was never made in the interests of the server - it was always made just as a means of increasing power. Look at the recent FM changes if you want a prime example. Someone got thrown under the bus and a very select group of people benefited as a result. That's enough LSRP politics, though.

To make sure a product is ready for release, it requires polishing. I'd rather the server be released a fully finished product with no bugs than a piece of shit rock-sculpture that barely functions.

I'm not sure what exactly your point is. People expecting LSRP V2 immediately upon released are going to immediately be disappointed - that's not how any of this works. In fact, if I joined and was told "This is gonna be just like LSRP!" I would probably not have very high hopes. This is pretty much why I've warmed up to the idea of new drug names already, to be honest. It's a filter to keep the type of people away who started forcing other people to conform to their arbitrary standards. I was part of a movement on LSRP to start reforming police roleplay and ultimately we did. But to start reaching into people's roleplay which doesn't necessarily effect my own perturbed me - I didn't have any issue with Idlewood or mall roleplayers. They had fun, and so did I. I didn't like the way they roleplayed, frankly I thought that often times some of them weren't there for the roleplay, but so long as they follow the rules it's no skin off my nose. It's a part of the environment you can interact with. I don't agree with the decision to have non-realistic names, but at the same time it's not going to ruin my ability to portray a realistic character struggling with addiction. It's not a game-breaking bug. It's not a quit-worthy decision. If the administration team started trying to enforce a standard where EVERYONE needed to roleplay EXACTLY how they wanted them to, then I'd quit. But drug names is very miniscule, frankly, in the grand scheme of things - the script looks fantastic, and it's a fresh concept. So long as I can roleplay how I want to roleplay, I'm happy.

As the person who made the huge writeup everyone is now championing as "ahh look at the tyranny!", look at it this way - the very fact you're allowed to express your opinion without much consequence and constructively already is a good sign. One of the most massive issues that inevitably impeded and halted any developmental progress at LSRP was a clear lack of any passion or vision at the upper echelons. Everyone was very thoroughly entrenched in their own camps and satisfied with clique-based back-stabbing politics, trying to get rid of people who thought differently or work against someone else. Here? I haven't seen any sign of people being shit-talked for having a different opinion. Every administrator appears to have the same goal. So ease up - let's just see how it goes. You don't need to agree with every rule or decision, but ask yourself very personally if you think it will ruin your ability to have fun. In all likelihood, it probably won't. What's better? A staff team that will throw eachother under the bus or a team where everyone is working towards a common goal? Which one sees a community fail and which one sees a community succeed?

I still don't necessarily agree with the decision, but I'm not going to be an asshole about it. If you're here to be an asshole about it, you're not championing a cause, you're just being detrimental. I'm satisfied with the answer of no - sometime down the line, who knows? It might even change. But I'm happy to try it out and see what the changes are.

It's important to have a good team at the beginning, but its more important to maintain in the long run.

Don't forget that LS-RP was and still is one of the biggest servers in SAMP and it wouldn't have lasted 11 years without it having a strong team of admins throughout those years and more importantly community.

Point is, nothing wrong with learning from LS-RP experience, we should learn from their mistakes and avoid it and take the good things and apply it because its the closest example of a successful server.

I like to constantly re-emphasize this will be an escape from real life type of server, rather than a simulation.

Basically, not for people who value realism in a role-playing game. OK.

Do you have anything logical to contribute? This is a GAME.

A game is a structured form of play, usually undertaken for enjoyment

If you're so passionate about realism, go and play in-real life, it's pretty realistic out there sometimes.
