(Kosovo Liberation Army)
" The Kosovo Liberation Army (abbreviated KLA; Albanian: Ushtria Çlirimtare e Kosovës—UÇK) was an ethnic-Albanian paramilitary organisation that sought the separation of Kosovo from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) during the 1990s and the eventual creation of a Greater Albania.[a] Its campaign against Yugoslav security forces, police, government officers, and ethnic Serb villages precipitated a major crackdown by the Yugoslav military and Serb paramilitaries within Kosovo known as the Kosovo War of 1998–99. The fighting led to the displacement of 800,000 Kosovar Albanians. The Kosovo war ultimately featured a military campaign by NATO against FRY armed forces during March – June 1999.
In 1999, with the fighting over and an international force in place within Kosovo, the KLA was officially disbanded, and their members entered the Kosovo Protection Corps, a civilian emergency protection-body that replaced the KLA and Kosovo Police Force, as foreseen in United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244. Former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders also entered politics, some of them winning high-ranking offices. "
Pjeter Berisha served in the Ushtria Çlirimtare e Kosovës alongside his cousins Lulzim Berisha and Ditmir Ramadani, once the war was over in 1999, Pjeter had reached the age of 21. They returned to their city of Mitrovicë, only to be welcomed by their destroyed home-town, poverty was at a all-time high, some of their family members had been killed and captured by the Yugoslavia Forces during the war. Things had changed, especially their lives. Pjeter and his cousin Lulzim returned to their home on the outskirts of the city, they tried to live a normal life after the war, but it was not possible. There had been too much damage, and too much pain to carry on living in Kosovo. They had nothing, no money, no food, barely even had a place to stay due to the ruins. They tried and tried for veteran support, but there was nothing, they were left poor and scarred by the war. Other family members and friends fought alongside with them in the war against the Yugoslavia, and many died. It was a bad time for them.
It was too much, there was nothing left. The war had totally ruined their beautiful country. Pjeter was a very stubborn yet clever individual, he had connections throughout Kosovo and Albania due to his criminal activities. He was involved with cannabis growing and smuggling across Europe, it was a very popular business. It is still going on today, especially in the small town of Lazarat. In the winter of 2001 Pjeter organised the journey from Mitrovicë to Durrës, the reason being; Pjeter had organised him and his cousin Lulzim Berisha to be smuggled across the west of Europe between Portugal and Morocco and eventually over the Northern Atlantic Ocean. It took a few weeks, but it all went smoothly. They got past border patrol due to it being an import ship, they were among dozens of immigrants; Albanians, Greeks, you name it. There were immigrants from all over Europe. Upon their arrival in Georgia, America they stayed under the radar for a few days before hitch-hiking from Georgia to San Antonio, Texas. From here on they hitch-hiked again, this time leaving them in Arizona, Phoenix. The place was full of crime, the two were already exposed. However they weren't fond of the area and kept on travelling due to rumours about 'San Fierro', The Saints, "The city of dreams."
From 2001 till 2002 they spent most of their time trying to get jobs, however they were illegal immigrants, and it was somewhat hard. Eventually, Pjeter and Lulzim got captured by Immigration and were faced with the threat of being deported, however due to the circumstances with the war between the UCK and the FRY, they were granted American Citizenship under 'Asylum Seekers'. This enabled them to obtain licenses for cars, houses, TVs, whatever. However, Pjeter and Lulzim struggled to find work, nobody wanted to hire them. This lead to Pjeter's criminal past to return to their present. Pjeter got involved with various individuals, including Anthony Sciarra, at the time he wasn't a made man, however he had work for Pjeter and Lulzim. Anthony was aware they were just trying to make money, and used it to his advantage. Anthony sent them on jobs, of course illegal. Lulzim followed Pjeter's footsteps and entered a life of crime. Pjeter and Lulzim became hired-guns for cash, as long as they were getting paid, they would do the job. Pjeter created a list of connections in the underworld of San Fierro and America in general and used it to his advantage. 19th August 2003 Pjeter and Lulzim were arrested for Armed Robbery.

They were sentenced to five years without parole or bail, and were sent to San Anne Penitentiary, the highest security prison in the state.
September 2006 Lulzim got out due to good behaviour, he stayed below the radar whilst inside. However Pjeter was sentenced to another year within the prison due to various assaults, robberies and other malicious actions upon inmates during his stay. October 2009 Pjeter Berisha was released from San Anne and was greeted by Lulzim and his Sister outside San Anne. His Sister had migrated to America and obtained an asylum seeker visa.

The two cousins went on in life, however they went under the radar for a number of years. Pjeter and Lulzim began to distribute drugs imported from their Albanian connections back home, they were handling thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of cannabis, cocaine, heroin and more. They worked with immigrants from other parts of Albania and Kosovo, however they weren't a large number. They mainly extorted local businesses and drug dealers, their associates eventually got locked up, deported or killed.
Time went on and eventually, Pjeter's other family members, Ditmir Ramadani and Agron Ramadani had immigrated to the

states illegally in the August of 2016. This helped Pjeter's muscle grow, he had more workers to help with his criminal activities in the city. Once they arrived they were dropped at the docks in San Fierro and picked up by Pjeter's associate Albi Shehhi. Once they settled in, Pjeter allowed Ditmir and Agron to run his brothel, located in a complex in the south of San Fierro. It brought in a lot of money, however their workers were kidnapped and drugged females, some as young as sixteen years old. Their ties with various groups such as the Italian Mafia were still strong, enabling them to continue to work their way within the underworld of San Fierro.
Pjeter had started a circle of crime, most of those involved being his Family members.
" The Albanian Mafia or Albanian organised crime (Albanian: Mafia Shqiptare) are the general terms used for criminal organisations based in Albania or composed of ethnic Albanians. Albanian organised crime is highly active in Albania and the Balkan Peninsula, the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union countries such as Italy, participating in a diverse range of criminal enterprises including trafficking in drugs, arms, humans, and human organs. The Albanian criminal scenario is characterised by diversified criminal plans which, in their complexity, show one of the highest criminal capacities in the world. In Albania alone, there are over 15 mafia families that control organised crime. According to Wikileaks reports, the Albanian mafia has monopolised various international affiliations from as far east as Israel, to as far west as South America. These reports primarily indicate a strong connection between politicians and various Albanian mafia families. According to the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS), Albanian mafia groups are actually hybrid organizations (various sectors of society), often involved in both criminal and political activities.[1] "
" In the United States, the term "Albanian Mafia" may include or refer specifically to various Albanian-American organised crime groups, such as the Rudaj Organisation, Albanian Boys, or Krasniqi crew, all based in New York City. Albanian-American crime groups vary in the extent of their connections to Albanian mafia groups in Albania or Europe, ranging from loosely connected or mostly independent of Albanian mafias in Europe to being essentially American extensions of European Albanian mafia groups. "
" The Albanian mafia in the United States has been thought to greatly increase their dominant power and is one of the most violent criminal organisations in operation—particularly with their strong connections in the European Union.[34] "
" In the United States, Albanian gangs started to be active in the mid-80s, mostly participating in low-level crimes, such as burglaries and robberies. Later, they would become affiliated with Cosa Nostra crime families before eventually growing strong enough to operate their own organisations under the Iliazi family name.[35] "
" During investigations conducted by FBI experts in the city of New York and surrounding areas against the Albanian mafia, it was noted that the Albanian mafia was too widespread and too secretive to penetrate. Furthermore, although there have been a number of operations performed by the FBI to destroy organised crime such as Italian and Russian factions, the Albanian mafia continues to be widespread in New York in a relatively high number.[36] "
