Since I've began using the forums here, I've noticed a few issues. Now, these issues aren't extremely problematic, these issues are just an inconvenience really.
Sometimes, when you are viewing a thread with multiple pages and you click a specific page the page won't load. You'll have to refresh your browser to view it or you will have to wait an alarming amount of time for it to load.
The forums are just slow, when I click the index I should be at the forum's homepage within 1 - 2 seconds. It takes about 5 seconds. Though this is just me being overly picky, I believe it'd look more professional to have those loadtimes cut in half.
Honestly, I just believe the time needs to be found for someone to optimize the forum. May that be through configuring the DNS better, cutting down on the use of CSS3 animations, etc. There has to be ways of allowing the forums to look the same but still cut down the load times.
I personally like the look of them and how they work currently. The little ding notification when someone posts is nice, so I don't think that should be done away with. However, I do think the load times are horrendous and I do agree with Saintt on that note.

I also enjoy such features. That just why I feel we should find ways of rewriting the code to be faster.
Made some optimizations, should be a lot faster now
Google pagespeed insights increased in 10 points since my optimizations and pingdom speed test is 2 seconds faster to load than it was before optimizations

It is noticeably faster. Thank you, maybe if I get the chance to join the development team I can assist in optimizing it further. :)
