I don't think it's unfair at all if it was based in California time. Why would it be more fair for it to be based around +1?
American measurements
Started by crazy white girl,
I live in Europe and I'm all for using the Californian time zone.
I'm an European and I agree with this, but to a certain degree.
I think the default should be based on where are you in-character and that is the State of San Andreas, this goes for timing too.
Though, a feature that converts measurement standards should be included in the game mode so that way both parties are, in a way, compensated and less confused when interacting, both IC and OOC.

what do you mean
@JackH
They should implement a code that allows a player to adjust the standard by typing out '/mstandard [standard type]' and from then on the feature should manipulate the text based on the player's selected standard in order to help him out convert these values automatically, though in the same time not taking for granted that the default standard is American, which means the text output should always be based on the default for players that don't use an altered standard. Nevertheless, I'm still not sure if I'm clear to you after this.
ofc we should use non retarded measurements

Took the words from me.
I honestly don't really see any difference in EU time / US time or KPH / MPH, I never really paid any attention to it anyway, most of the time I had the HUD off, it just wasn't neccessary. Servertime won't really matter either, it's just a game in the end, whether it's day or night won't really change the roleplay aspect in any way, I don't remember seeing anyone complaining about that on other servers, in the end you don't even pay attention to those details.
Agreed, except changing the timezone.

Matter of fact, I'll take it a step further by saying that it only makes sense to use American measurements. The playground is pretty much US-ish and so is most of the in character documentation and paperwork (e.g. PD/FD structures, licensing, etc). So yeaah, ya'll should get used to the units, it ain't space science, really.
As for the time? I don't see why not, or why would people whine against it to be honest.
As an EU with the server time being @Cali you get to play @ evening/night IC mostly.
Ain't that the best time woorah for nightlife
At the end of it all though I don't particulary care what the server timezone is gonna be
This the one honestly.

I would like this. This would make more sense for gang roleplay. Gang members don't stand outside on the block early in the morning/afternoon., Must of the activities happen at night time aka when the server would be most populated.
Why can't we have US time for once? I know a lot more US players then U.K players. But I guess
Why even sync the in-game time to a certain timezone in real life? A new system should be implemented, where the timezone in the server changes from time to time . That way, people from all over the world can experience both night and day in-game.
Measurements should be used up to player's preference, but it would be nice to use the imperial system for immersion. It should not be forced on players though, like, players shouldn't have to learn it, unless they want to.
Time-zone should be European based, majority of the server is from Europe, it would make no sense to have peak times at 4 in the morning server time or so.
Don't see why peak time being morning is a bad idea. That's when everyone gets up in real life, is it not? Immersion is better if it's California timezone.

Not to mention I'm tired of it always being night when I log on
I see nothing wrong with syncing the timezone to the pacific timezone. The peak times(20:00-23:00 in gmt+1) are 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, which are times where most people would logically be awake. I don't know where everyone's getting the idea that it's going to always be night time at peak hours.
Thumbs up for using American measurements. As far as the time goes, I think it’s best to base it on the server peak time and when the most players are on. Usually events and business openings happen during peak times and it’s more fitting to have a club opening, a concert, or a party when it’s night. No one goes clubbing in the morning during a week day. It would be awkward to pull off most events and a night life scene. Not to mention street gangs would probably enjoy pulling the loitering and criminal activity aspect of their role play more at night.
Doesn't really matter, it's easy to learn any of these two measuring systems anyway, takes less than 15 minutes imho.
