Once again, if you have just entered the thread and only skimmed, read the entirety of the suggestions. You're complaining about things that we've already explained.
Prison Discussion
Started by Zenophobia,
"no thanks, days system is too realistic, it's just a game we all want to have fun"
"forcing people to stare at their computer screens for hours in prison whether they enjoy prison RP or not is fine"
What? Makes absolutely no sense to me.
You people say a days based system is "absurd," "too realistic" and "too much," justifying yourself by saying "it's just a game," and that "we're here for the fun", and yet you're the same people being totally fine with making people wait hours in prison forcing them to roleplay in an environment they don't like or to do nothing because there's nobody in prison to RP with.
Compelling people to be online for their character prison times to go down when they don't like it is the opposite of fun. Let alone forcing them to stay online when there's no guarantee that there will be roleplay opportunities in prison 24/7. This is practically admin jail.
And while a maximum of 6 hours of prison right now (as I've gathered) is a joke, there are people on this thread who want players to watch paint dry for 10, or even 20 hours and saying it's fine because it's just a game. In what world is having to wait 20 hours in-game "fun"? If you like prison roleplay, good for you, not everybody does
We are the ones suggesting that the sentences be longer WHILE making sentences non-compulsory, meaning the times would go down while offline, allowing people to hop on an alt while their other character rots in prison. If players want to roleplay in prison while their character is still ICly imprisoned it should be because they want to, not because they need to.
Not to mention that longer sentences would bring more roleplay opportunities, make parole actually worth it, and I'm all for reducing the sentence to prisoners who have excellent behavior while in prison, it would encourage people to log in while being optional.
It's not just any game, this is ultimately a heavy roleplay server and we don't want the same characters committing the same crimes every day, going to prison for a few hours, and being released the same day. Otherwise just go play on a Cops n' Robbers server

If you think it's more then just a game then u have serious social issues broh no days just hours some people got lives n that time goes down shit doesn't make sense because people would go in jail check they time n just /q until they time up this reduces the rp.... in jail

You may have misunderstood my stance on the prison system. I'm actually for nonobligatory long sentences, prison times should be fairly long but not compulsory on an OOC level (the player shouldn't have to be online for the time to go down). This is especially because at the end of the day we're here to RP for the fun that prison sentences shouldn't be forced to the player
Sorry for the late reply, but yeah. That sounds way better than I predominantly thought and fully support you.

The things you've said I have already addressed in the very post you're quoting to reply to.
My point is that it's not just ANY game, it's a heavy roleplay server. We're here to have fun while roleplaying characters in a realistic environment.
You say people got lives, yet you want to oblige them to stare at their computer screens for hours in-game until their character is released, whereas we want the times to be longer but non-compulsory.
What makes no sense is being able to shoot someone in the morning, get imprisoned and released as early as the evening of the same day.
As for reducing RP in jail I've already said there should be incentives for people to log on such as parole, being able to be released sooner if you show excellent behavior in prison. This would not drastically reduce prison RP, this would get rid of all the AFKers and people who don't like prison roleplay and only people who want to be there will be there, increasing the roleplay quality.
